I think we got away with one there big time. I look at it and I look at it and I still don't know how it wasn't a pen.

Welbeck and (to a lesser extent) Januzaj went over far too easily, though.

Ashley Young dives so much he shouldn't be surprised that he doesn't win genuine penalties.

That little shit could have his leg amputated by a Debuchy two footed kung fu kick and I'd still book the tosser for diving.

Most interesting stat - "Also startling is the fact Chelsea seem to have little time for Romelu Lukaku. He is the second-top scorer in 2013 with 20 goals despite spending the year on loan, first with West Brom and then Everton. "

Not ready??

Not to lead the line at Chelsea no. He can bang the goals in granted, but the rest of his play is still a little raw for a Mourinho machine, he tends to go in a strop and not chase back if he loses the ball, and his first touch is still a bit...rapey. Definitely one for next season, we forget he's only 20. Bear in mind it was his choice to go out on loan, Jose tried to convince him to stay.

That actually disappoints me. That such a promising manager could go and work with someone like Tan. They might make beautiful music together but it's such a risk for Ole.

I don't necessarily agree. I assume he wanted to leave because he wasn't guaranteed to be first choice. He is clearly quality and everyone knows it. You learn best by doing, and there is no way he is going to a worse job than Torres (I will admit, he hasn't been bad recently when fit though) or Ba.

I am no football mastermind and I don't watch every live game but from when I have seen Lukaku against the big clubs he never seems to set the world on fire could that be stopping Chelsea starting him?

Think that has a lot to do with it - he went missing in the Euro Super Cup and then took that woeful penalty, you could tell he was off as soon as he took it.

Definitely a Chelsea star of the future, needs to grow up a bit first.

He is in development which is why it wasn't bad for him to move to Everton, I could see the possibility of him being another Drogba in the future however.

It sounds like AVB got on the wrong side of practically everybody at the club (medical staff, backroom staff, ground staff) and had to go, even though there wasn't a replacement lined up. He seems to have real problems dealing with people.

@ileks, you've got Shaq Coulthirst on a one-month loan. You better look after him, he's brilliant.

Good stuff. And as a gesture of good will, I think you should support his parent club in the NLD tomorrow. :)

Annnnnnd the collapse begins.

This is going to be like the Championship again for us isn't it? Lets sack a few managers and wave a cheque book round.. it'll work.

Ewww.. fuck football.
