I went to a couple of games at France 98. The England-Tunisia game in Marseilles (and the trouble that went with it, which was nowhere near as bad as the press made it out) and the USA-Iran game in Lyon, which was...interesting. Had to come home after that (missus had friends who live in France and they'd scored tickets for us).

Euro 96 was more fun though; I went to England-Scotland and the England-Spain QF, and I should have gone to the Holland game but I had to do some...thing that I can't even remember now so I missed it.

Personally, having been there (including Manaus), I think Brazil is going to be a logistical nightmare for fans.
