Seems we have made an enquiry for Darren Bent.. 20m?? he's a bit old (28 in few weeks).. and 20m is a bit much... but really.. I quite like him at club level even though he hasn't quite hit the ground running for Aston Villa it would solve our problems imo.

I reckon he'd get a lot of goals for us. It's all we are missing !

Looks immense if Carroll hits the ground sometime soon... that with our tied best defensive league in Prem would surely get us running back in to top 4..

No idea where Downing fits in if we get Bent and Carroll doesn't leave though as will be forced to play 433 or have one of bent/suarez/carroll on the bench...

Bent would be alright with Suarez though wouldnt he? suarez dropping off deep and doing his thing, and Bent playing off the shoulder of the last defender. bent/carroll wouldnt work though.

No, the main reason he's been shit is that he has no service and no team trying to play any attacking football. His most successful spells are always as a lone striker. Before his injury, this was highlighted by the fact he had the least touches per 90 mins of any premier league player - the ball hasn't been reaching him at all. He wasn't paired with anyone at Sunderland, for example.

5m for an England international seems like good business, he's not great but he'd get into most Premier League sides easily, dont think hes as good as any of our current CBs or even Alex who hes replacing but he's certainly good enough back-up.
