If he is refusing to show up for training (work) I am fairly sure they can refuse to pay him, in most other businesses he would of already been sacked which is what he is trying for. But City want their £35m.

I'm fairly sure that won't apply to footballers - they'll be on a contract of some description but not technically an "employee".

They could probably sue him for breach of contract - but chances are he's not breaching it. It's Man City remember - they're desparate for quality players - and the only quality players who'll play for City are mercenaries who are after the cash. City will be desparate to sign players so they'll have to agree to all sorts of shitty terms.
