Really, penalties are pretty much mainly mental strength, nothing about skill unless you want a fancy pants penalty.

Hammering it straight in the middle of the goal when the keeper stands his ground really is a poorly taken penalty. It takes some skill to score a penalty, not a lot, but some. And I bet you that Liverpool expected him to score that penalty after they paid £35 million punds for him
