Man City's Villa old boys playing well. Best game I've seen Milner play for them and Barry being his normal classy self. Not sure why some of you don't appreciate him, guess it can only be because he doesn't play for a United or Arsenal.

Why is this always your arguement? You come across as a bitter little child with this sort of rambling.

Barry has been pretty poor for sometime with completely inconsistant performances with many times hardly being in the game. But with that said the City system didnt help most the time.
It isnt like he been unrated here, I am sure over they years it was said more then once that he should be one of the England CM's, just in past year or so he not necessarily deserved that (with that said not many England players deserve their place).

When he brings consistancy back to his game I will say he is a good player again, for now I will just say he had a good game and a scored a nicely struck goal.

And blah at them heading the table . . dont think we will be able to hammer spurs 5-0, lol

haha, last week it was Barton in the slagging match with Morgan. Seems the dick wants to get a name for himself by trying to belittle footballers.

Because it's how it works.

United fans raved about Ashley Young and how he's 'improved' since he joined United -- yet he played in his first few games for you like he did in 99% of his games for Villa, but now that you're actually watching him for a whole game rather than MOTD highlights you notice it.

Rooney was utter turd at the World Cup but keeps his place because it would be suicide for an England manager to upset the newspaper journalists who pander to the Sky four fans. Ditto with Lampard.

Having watched Barry for well over ten years now I know he is Mr Consistency personified. Yet because he plays for Citeh or Villa he'll never get the full support of the newspapers and the Sky four fans. Its just the way it works.

Being a United fan you have probably never noticed, nor never will.

I mean I like plastic, I agree it's quite useful.

Not sure if I'd call myself a fan though.

Hahahaha.
I said for many years that Ashley young is a good player and should be england left winger. Oh and I watched villa full games many times. Infact I watch as many full games as I can, having already seen 5 this weekend already, with Utd playing tomorrow. Im a fan of football in general, not just Manchester Utd. Yes they are my team but I like to watch others.

Rooney keeps his England place due to who he is, and also because of the lack of quality in that position until recently. Though Gabby should have been given chances. I actually feel Villa been a bit unlucky in the lack of callups some of their players get.

Barry was consistant at Villa, but not really at City. He has not shone out at the club and I dont think he could consistant.

Lampard and/or Gerrard should have been dropped from the England squad long ago. Rarely do they show up.

And Motd, dont always watch that simply because the time is not always put where it should be.

Quality coup for Chelsea that is tbh. As for appreciation of Ashley Young turamber, all I have heard my Villa say during his time is that he has been gash since his 2nd season and Barry was inconsistent. Differs from what you say.

I suspect Man C will have to buy some more defence, they look a little weak.

Ashley has one problem, his final ball. Often he hits the first defender but to be honest that seems to be a major problem with modern day wingers, most them dont seem to be able to consistantly put a decent ball in.

To be fair, in his last 18months Young hasnt seemed to really have his heart in the game when I saw him. You could see the underlying talent but he wasnt pushing to get it out of himself. I guess he was feeling much like Aston Villa as a club comes across as... stagnant. And the move has seemed to revitalize him a bit. But that talent has always been there to be seen.

I'm wondering where Nasri will fit in tbh, Barry and De Jong should both be worried, they surely won't get as much game time once he comes, only one of them will surely start any game from then on...

Johnson and Milner will probably get less game time too.

It's been more apparent in England games than anything will Villa in the last year.

And of course he looks better with United Turamber, no disrespect to Villa, but he's playing with much better players so has more time, space and options.

As for Barry, I thought he was great at Villa, but he's not stood out since going to City. Good stable midfielder for them, but a bit of a Carrick - nothing special.

There is talk going around that Man City are paying over the top for Nasri as hush money. Nasri's agent let slip that Man City had offered him £205k a week long before they had got permission from us to talk to him. Might explain the stupid price.

250k a week???? For Nasri???? Fuck me shitty are insane. So 400k odd for Tevez, probably the same for Aguero, over 200k a week for Yaya.... God knows what the rest are on.

Fuck me even Barry is probably on more than 150k.

certainly would explain a thing or two. With a year left on the contract there was always questions over the fee being offered, would also explain why Arsene seems to be not bothered about dealing with City or protecting Nasri from injury by not playing him

Yep and thats why even offering him the same £140k a week that Cesc was on has been turned down. And I had heard Yaya was on £200k after tax meaning his pre tax was around £400k, bcause in spain he was paying Beckham tax.

Yeah - I knew Tevez was on that, well closer to £500k pre tax by all reports... but Yaya too? crazy :(

I'd understand if they simply offered mahoosive win bonus's and title/cup bonus's but a sensible basic...

I'm almost of the opinion we need US style wage caps on football, clearly financial fair play is toothless as far as city are concerned. I was annoyed enough when we upped Rooney's pay - but with shitty setting the bar so high it's going to end up happening with the top players at every club.

edit:// I'm also annoyed with Arsene for blocking his move to Utd, but probably more so with Nasri for not realising that £100k less a week at Arsenal, but playing week in week out and being the main man is worth more than £250k a week for warming a bench every other game.

I don't generally, but the tevez one's were leaked when he was giving all the bad press.

Half this forum seems adamant Rooney's on 200k+ a week, so why shouldn't I believe it about shitty?

edit:// will be interesting to see shitty's financials when they are published...

I agree something needs to change but I do not know how it will work. City also pay for Yaya Toures house according to some. So it will take some policing to stop extras like that being used to top up wages to avoid a cap. Or like us with Sol a massive signing on fee to keep him in our wage structure.

The problem with wages is some places report the basic and some report with the bonues and image rights ect without the player confirming its all speculation though. But when City publish the finacials you can check the wage bills and go from there.

Speaking of big wages, I wonder what Eto'o will be getting to play in Russia.
