Yet another season with nothing for Arsenal. Will Wenger survive again?

Plus it still seems you've not improved the area you really need to from last season.

Not improved yet is not the same thing as weakening, which a lot of people are suggesting we're doing. Losing Clichy has utterly no bearing on the matter. Besides, if you discounted the set piece goals we concede, we'd have won the league last season. :p Our defensive record from open play is actually very good, despite the shaky appearances. It was conceding 53% (IIRC) of our EPL goals from set pieces that killed us last season.

If we trained differently, it'd probably be eliminated. However, I can't see us having spent a great deal of our off-season working on set pieces. :D

I wonder if Arsene already has his replacements for Cesc and Nasri sorted, you would think so.

You'd think so, he's known they are going for a long time. If they get Hazard I will be pissed!

Mata looks a good shout for replacing Nasri, although I'm sure Wenger has his sights on an unknown French kid.

They are in talks over Dann already.

He always has men scouring the streets of Paris for young impressionable French boys, don't worry about that!

Cesc and Nasri out. Sneijder in please.

I would of bitten City's are of the moment they offered £20m for Nasri there is no point keeping him they guy will play at half speed to avoid injury and save his pay day.

Cesc is upsetting I hoped he would not screw us like this. The only way we sell for £30m is that he refuses to play. He could still have gone to Barce but got us a pay day too. So it feels like a slap in the face. That being said this needs to be over and I do believe he can be replaced eventually by Jack.

The worrying thing for me is players like RVP and Theo who will have one year left next summer why would they re-sign for us right now?

We can't afford Sneijder's wages, simple as. He'd destroy our wage structure.

RvP does seem to be very committed to Arsenal, he genuinely really likes the club. The only problem is he's got a new agent, who I believe is also Nasri's & Clichy's agent (and a couple of others I think), and he's a right cunt. If RvP were to leave next season, which seems unlikely we'd be in big trouble. The man is sheer class. If he stays injury free for the whole season I can easily see his agent kicking up trouble. If he does get an injury or two though we should be safe as few top clubs would want an injury prone striker of his nature.

Cesc and Nasri out must save £180k a week or near enough. With that I think we could afford on hyper star players wages?

Yeah but then you'd have all your current players on less than 80k a week and Sneijder on 200k, it'd cause problems.

We could do a Sol Camble deal again use some of the cash we are sitting on to give him a tasty signing on fee then pay him £100k and keep him happy.

Plus if Nasri demanding £140k a weeknshows anything it's thatnplayers don't care what others earn at Arsenal just what the mug agent says they are worth.

Sneijder would want to move to a bigger team, not one losing all it's best players.

Why would any big star want to go to Arsenal when it has the appearance of a sinking ship? Hazard sure won't, that's a given. Mata..? Maybe, but that only due Valencia still being up shit creek.

And wanking 13mil up the wall for a kid who can easily flop doesn't exactly scream ambition.

Add a decent CB to our squad now and we could challenge for the title quite easily :)

TBF Adam is a decent squad signing and Downing will suit us well, Doni as a freebie back up isn't bad and if Hendersen fufills his potential could be a steal, they palyers signed have all been decent, just stupid as no midfielders have been sold so now we have like 13 first team/fringe midfileders

£120m for Messi would pretty much be insulting anyway to be perfectly honest. :p

Chelsea look set to derail Real Madrid's bid to sign Santos's young Brazilian striker Neymar.

Soon we'll have as many centre forwards as Liverpool have midfielders.

LOL @ the cesc saga, he got as far as the airport and had to turn around.

Pep has pulled the plug on signing him today, he wants to get the match against Real over with first, and is annoyed at the press focus all being on cesc before the match.

Interesting to see if Arsenal now say take him now or lose him.

And from Wenger's press conference today (even though they are not on the team sheet) "I expect nobody to leave. There is no news. If there is news, I promise I will give it," he said.

When asked if he therefore expected the pair to stay, Wenger replied that that was "a good conclusion from my statement".
