I'm very pleased with that performance, we've carried on the free flowing footy we've played in pre-season. If we start the league in the same vein of form we will be beastly.

New signings and promoted youth players all look so comfortable in the team.

Bringing on Barry when you have De jong and Yaya in Midfield says it all really, I'm sure they will be challenging this year, but it won't be down to attacking tactics.

Silva and Johnson are wasted with Dzeko up front on his own, I know the lad scored, but he's just too slow to make it in the premier league and not clinical enough in the box to make up for it.

As for United the Future looks bright, all of the youngsters on the pitch really pleases me. They all seem to understand each other!!

I support Man Utd, but I follow my local teams Sunderland/Newcastle also as it's good for the area to have them in the top league!

Very happy with the second half performance by United and players like Welbeck (such workrate) and Cleverly really impressed me. Nani pushed on last season and if he can continue that form it will be a big factor in any potential success we have.

If Arsenal lose Fabragas and make no signings then I can see them falling out the top 4. . .

Man City, without Tevez just have to little movement up front. Aguero may change that. But as things stand it is just way too static to make use of there better players.
And tactics... well when you talk about defensive tactics then you dont have to look further then city. Seems a case of how many DM's can you have on the pitch at once. lol.

First half. Utd started well, but sloppy defending and a well whipped freekick just put us in a slump. Both defending with no closing down, and goalkeeping was on the poor side for the second, but they still werent back in flow from conceeding. Dont want to be to tough on De Gea, but it does seem his weakness be long range, with his reflexes close up being his pro.

Man Utd were really slick in there passing, shown more in the 2nd half with Cleverly on the field. We just seemed to have that extra edge and sharpness that Carrick does not bring. Right now if i was looking for a CM pairing I would go with Anderson and Cleverly. Lots of work ethic and some crisp passing.

The youngsters looked really good, and even if we dont retain this season I think we will be really strong in years to come as everyone just seems to instantly clicked. . . and definately be hard pressed to beat Nani's first goal.

Man City will be up there for sure. But their manager is much too negative. Sure Mourinho showed that you could win things with a lot of money and by playing utterly bland boring football but Ferguson has learned how to cope with teams playing that way.

Ashley Young did well today, good to see him do so well even if it looked odd with him in a different team's strip.

City were pretty disappointing, they still don't look like much of a team and lack attacking fluidity. I think they still need a CB and a CM to become a great team, and a new manager of course.

They can play without Fabregas, Nasri is far more suited to a central position anyway, he tailed off when Cesc came back into the team last season and he was pushed out wide to compensate. Wilshere and Ramsay will do a job!!!

Welcome to Chelsea Romelu. Good signing, but not in the context of our squad sadly. Anelka is off next year for certain at least, but Kalou is past his sell by date by a country mile sadly.

Then we have Modric staying at Spurs, or so it seems, and Pastore signing for PSG. I'm getting concerned about our attacking midfield options. Someone give me hope.
