Good players in the French league maybe, gambling on 4 of them being able to hit the ground running in the premier league is just that a massive gamble. They have released their top 3 goal scorer and assist makers from last year and replaced them with untested players.

He said they needed one more pkayer, but the squad lacks quality, now baron and more than likely enrique, they ain't getting anyone to replace them. They could not even turn the head of a left back from Swansea! No one in their right mind would move there!

Not so, the most common buy back clauses give first option if the new club wants to sell.

There was a deal Barca did with an Italian(?) club earlier this summer that worked the way you said though. At the end of the day, even that depends on the player agreeing though.

no you have that the wrong way round


normal buy back clauses are to insure for the selling club, if they decide it was a mistake they can buy the palyer back at a usually inflated price, it doesn't matter wether or not the new club want to sell as the fee has already been agreed.


the one this summer was a new and strange one, that was a sellback clause rather than buy back. where if the player didn't perform they could send him back to his original club but if they wanted to keep him they had to pay extra, almost like a joint ownership for 1 season untill one or the otehr party buys him fully.
