Johnson will be a great signing for you, he really led the defence well. Villa were better in the 2nd half and created a few good chances and probably edged it overall.

There are far worse sides in the prem than Wolves this season mate, but they did only have about 3 shots.

Yea after all this time we finally got him, 2 clean sheets so far is good. Our massive problem last season was inconsistency, we could beat United then go loose to West Ham. So far it l

Solid point at Villa, words coming out that we look a much more solid side then previous? That true Turamber?

Yep, said as much in my earlier post. Should stay up no problem. Your boys didn't come for anything more than a draw today though, were happy to park the bus as they say.

McCarthy won the tactical battle though, completely changed the second half when we were on top and McLeish didn't have a clue how to respond.

All Sunderland need is a strikers who knows where the back of the net is and we will be fine.

Stupid thing is Villa have your deadly finisher ... but we've gone and sold all our creative players. Doh!

Of course I think we just want to keep the momentum going and getting a draw at your end was the best thing to do. Mick is learning alot lately, I've been impressed.

Edit timer...

I think he could be counted UTDs most expensive player per appearance. (if the numbers are correct) 17M transfer fee. 3.6m per year wages (if 70k/w are to be believed) / 39 appearances. £809230.76 an appearance. That's not counting any medical fees.

thats a pretty sweet appearance fee! :p

though i imagine their insurance would have paid alot of his wages/medical fees

On a different note, why are English players so injury prone? was thinking about this the other week when Kieron Dyer got injured again, can make a pretty decent England team from players that get Injured frequently (or have long term bans aswell in Ferdinands case xD)

Injureland
Chris Kirkland
Wes Brown
Rio Ferdinand
Leddly King
Jamie Carragher
Darren Anderton
Jamie Redknapp
Steven Gerrard
Kieron Dyer
Alan Smith
Michael Owen

All caped players, probly other players that have been injured more, like Carragher isn't injury prone as such but broken leg, missed WC 2002 with injury, dislocoted shoulder, lots of concussions ect

wonder why it is that English young talent always seems to be hampered with injury?

Looks like Dzeko has learnt how to play in this country then.

Edit - Milner must be wondering when he'll play next if Nasri is gonna assist in so many goals

Spurs will get spanked if they don't do something drastic in the halftime

Nasri is showing what he can do when he fairly happy i guess. how long the form will last is another matter, can he actually keep it up all season, if so even with the hush money it be a decent buy
