No no, you seem to misunderstand how reality works.

There is an equal chance of any team getting any other team, not more or less. IDIOT.
You don't seem to understand that there are say... 6 top teams in english football.. the other 58 are not that good........

64 teams.. minus one team.... 1 in 63 chance for Man City to get Man Utd etc.. 63/6 = 10.5 ... so 10.5 in 63 chance to get a top team which is around 1 in 6..

Unless I am missing something..

I could spend a bit of time and get the real percent chance of getting a team, because 1 in 6 isn't that accurate due to the way the draw works.. but it's likely to be like 1 in 8 ish..

It seems to happen every draw.. there is always a big name when there is pretty much ALWAYS a far better chance of say... Man Utd v Accrington Stanley...

The draws are far from random.. really.. the draw should be seeded until at least the quarter finals..

There is also this from last year.. http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2010/11/29/was-the-fa-cup-draw-fixed/

And in the same draw this time last year, Liverpool got Man Utd...

64 teams in the draw yet this happens... you don't have to be a mathematician to realise there is quite a low chance of getting a top team...

But you could say that about the lottery, the chance of you winning is 14 million to 1, yet somebody seems to do it every week. Must be a fix!!

The chance of Man Utd getting Man City is only 1/63. However, you would have also claimed a fix if it had been Liverpool vs Everton, Chelsea vs Fulham, Arsenal vs Tottenham, Newcastle vs Sunderland, Southampton vs Portsmouth etc. Its possible to think up many more and the chance of any of these pairings happening is 1/63. So most draws there will be a few interesting matches.

You are actually less likely to get a big team vs a very small team because the number of non-league teams that get through is normally less than 5.

What about that time when someone posted the champions league draw a day ahead of schedule, the bookies stopped accepting bets (including mine, the fuckers) and the next day - lo and behold!

Or, for clarkson-style balance: There is NO corruption in football. At all. Even with the billions of pounders that change hands, everything and everyone is above board!

Lol just seen this..

"Lionel Messi says his next goal in life is fatherhood. Let's hope he can achieve that without Xavi and Iniesta."

Ugh, there's some terrible reporting at the Metro. Defoe jokes on twitter that he is going to start his own reality show and the metro has completely run with it as if it's already started shooting. :\

It *better* be a joke JD.

The only true genius footballer, didn't turn professional until 24 as he wished to finish his doctorate. Brazilians seem to regard him as a bigger legend then Pele as he was seen as a 'man of the people'. There should be a big tribute when Corinthians (or have they done it) win the league.

that 82 world cup team and its performances should be compulsory viewing to footballers, just for the joy and elan they always played with.

Liverpool red card: This is going to cause some debate. Jay Spearing flies into a tackle with Clint Dempsey. He wins the ball but with momentum behind him catches Dempsey's leg with his studs. Having looked the better side and clearly pushing for a win, Liverpool now have 17 minutes to navigate a man light.

^dangerous tackle. Worthy of a red IMO, he got the ball but it was wreckless.

We really are missing Lucas, it just shows what a quality player he is really.. he totally organised our entire defense and midfield.. without him we are totally screwed really.. gotta remember he is only 24-25 too, future Brazil captain for sure and I really hope Liverpool but no doubt we will get a few offers in soon.
