Germany aren't going to go through because they did at the last tournament. They are going to go through because they are a very well organized and run team of talented players almost across the board, who have a belief in themselves at tournaments that I don't think any country but Brazil can match.

We will see, but I don't think it's certain that any team will get past group stages.. even Spain really..

There's no "we will see" about it, Germany are an exceptionally strong side atm, as are Spain. What planet are you living on where you don't think these two will cruise through the group stages?

(cheap shot = the same planet that thinks 'pool will finish top 4?) ;)

I just don't think anything in football should be taken as a certainty :/

Fuck. We'll get one or three points at most and it'll be against portugal. Shit draw and it is pretty much already over for us.

If we advance I'll see us as the best team in Europe(LOL)

Germany is going to tear us apart and so is Holland! Bendtner saying that we will reach the semis is now the biggest joke of the millenium...

Take away City and it has been an exciting start IMO. City winning the league really is the worst thing that can happen shows our league really is up for sale :(

I think that is indicative of the strength of the league this year. Big teams underperforming, City looking more or less unstoppable already. I think the fun is going to be at the bottom of the league again this year, and there are many clubs not good enough to be in the PL. The championship is where it's at! I can't wait for us to get promoted, because although I know we'll have to do well to stay in the division, we'll be one of 7-8 teams that could go down.

I'm enjoying it, but then again we've had pretty much a dream start, looking forward to the Chelsea game should be good.

hearing ominous rumblings that theres been a fairly hefty offer for tiote which im hoping isnt true, Ashley doesnt seem the sort to turn cash down, regardless of the impact itll have on the team.

Yeah the enjoyment factor will evaporate very quickly if City stay out in front but it's been enjoyable so far. Especially with the run Spurs are on. :)

True..Championship was a far more exciting prospect as you never knew what the season held when it began, whereas in the Prem it's pretty much nailed on that we will constantly be scrapping the barrel in the bottom.

I'd agree with this. City look like they could run away with it.

However, if you've a vested interest on the "race for the champions league" then it's better than it's been in years. Arsenal, Chelski, Liverpool are all in varying states of disarray and until the injury to Lucas I was confident we'd finish above both of them and clinch the spot.

The barcodes surely can't maintain their run for the whole season and tottingham seem to be up there (although I've not watched a spurs game, apart from against liverpool, in years - 'cause I honestly couldn't give a stuff at them - I'm waiting until the cash runs out and they drop back down the table to join Aston Villa in unambitious mediocrity).

Anyway. There's zero interesting football happening until monday night for me :)

Ugh. Drogba again. If AVB has no faith in Torres (and who could blame him?) then why not just let Danny play through the middle. Drogba hasn't been worth a place in the team for months. I love him and he's a Chelsea legend, and indeed I'd love to be proved wrong today, but he's past his best.

I forgot to put Ba in for Suarez :./ He's going to score today, and probably more than 1 judging by this start.

What the fuck is wrong with Newcastle conceding penalties almost every match?
