Gasperini, former Genoa coach. Did really well there, getting them a 5th place finish two seasons back and actually 'relaunched' the careers of Milito and Motta before they moved to Inter. He hasn't had a good start with Inter though.

No he needs to play for a different team.

He's not got the heart for a shoot out for a midfield spot, and Andersons and Cleverleys form have made him sulk. A proper player would have risen to the challenge last night and he didn't!

I though Carrick was abysmal, I can't remember the exact circumstance but there was a moment (at least one) in the second half where his misplaced pass just outside Utd's box almost led to a goal for Benfica. He's just a liability.

It did sound from Ferguson's interview that he has plans to use Carrick more though. :(

Ferguson knows what he's doing. Carrick is still United's most talented and creative midfielder. You can tell he trusts Carrick in the big games - Barcelona in the Champions League final for example. When he gets more playing time he'll get back to his best - one of the best in the world.
