Wouldn't expect any less from him, or any other footballer in all honesty :p

Except JT - role model for youth.

Surely you mean Ryan Giggs. Never shagged anyones wife, never went dancing in nightclubs with a broken foot, never dangled the carrot of fucking off to City unless he got a pay raise. Oh and 20 years at the top level of club football and still killing right-backs. ;)

I think torres spells the end for drogba, he's too sulky and I think chelski have had enough. He'll be gone in the summer, Mark my words.

Replaced with Lukaku.. ?

It is a bit obvious why we paid so much for Carroll, he has been probably the best English striker this season (something like 12 assists 11 goals in 20 apps) and with the new rules coming in soon.. English players are only going to get more expensive.

There is no risk with Carroll other than injury, he's an absolute beast and no centre half in the premier league has been anywhere close to the lad. He can become one of the great English strikers if he keeps himself grounded.

Suarez will be rubbing his hands together.

0.o No one has been close to the lad? Really? Surely he would have more goals if what you claim is true. Let us ground ourselves in reality here, the lad is new to the PL and defenders have not figured him out yet. When he has a couple of good seasons under his belt I will be inclined to believe the hype.

Everything Newcastle did went through him, however goals are not everything and Carroll does not hide from the other duties, he's good to have in the box at either end of the pitch. Most of Nolans goals are all from Carroll assisting with knock downs.

Newcastle only have Barton with the ability to actually cross the ball well, which is why most of the goals they score come from set pieces inolving Barton, Carroll and Nolan. Put his height, power, movement and desire in a team with players who can also pick a pass and the goal return will rise.

As for figuring him out, unless the current PL defenders suddenly uncover the ability to grow an extra few inches they aint gonna be stopping him in the air any time soon.

I feel you are being way too hard on the lad, having being thrown in at the deep end and asked to prove himself in a rather poor Newcastle squad he has done remarkably well.

After watching him in the championship I didn't think he would get the goals in th premier league at all. But I'll be betting on him breaking the 20 goal mark next year no problems.

I rate Carroll massively, most of use have been spunking over his performances this season, he was a beast in the championship as well.

However, £35million + is a massive risk. I could understand 20mill or so. Well played to Newcastle, they have have made a massive windfall and I believe they have the talent to survive regardless. Best and Ranger look great, their problem is they built their team and system around Carroll. Pool are not set up to play with a big front man, it will mean massive changes in your system.

It's just silly money and only deluded pool fans can't see that while also laughing at the 50million paid for torres.

I do think that both players will be successful, but they are under massive pressure to hit the ground running.

On the Spuds subject, I think it's funny that a lot of you (Emb, Levi for a start) say that most of the stories on transfer day are just made up by the press, yet you seem to believe every story that links spuds with a spanish striker?

No I am not being hard on him at all, I am merely stating that he is relatively unproven and it will take more than half a season to convince me that he is the next big thing. Even then, £35 million is a whole lot of money. He makes Darren Bent look cheap and he cost £8 million more than he is actually worth imo. Am I saying Carroll is not a good player? No definately not, he is good but we haven't seen enough yet to convince me that he is going to be great.

What is the bet Sunderland make a silly bid for Welbeck next too? Another good player with alot of potential but not worth more than £10-12 million at this point. There might be a premium on English talent now but this really has become silly season, when you can buy Van Der Vaart and Ozil for less than Liverpool played for a relatively unproven player. No wonder Fergie said there is no value you in the market, he is 100% right and did we all notice that Arsenal didn't spend either?

Yeah - brilliant PR by Carroll, or the truth. Hard to tell.

Yup regardless of whether he wanted to go or not, the fans will never believe Mike Ashley. Moat Toon fans are gutted he has gone, but are happy with the money they have got in, although they are concerned Ashley will not reinvest it.

It also makes Pardews statement of we will not sell Carroll at any cost a couple of weeks ago bullshit. So Pardew has to go along with the he made use sell him story.

I guess we will never know!

Also, I missed it with all the Torres and Carroll faff going on. Did Bolton really just get Vela and Sturridge till the end of the season?

Bolton will be immense!

No mate, West Brom stole Vela, Coyle said he was demanding the wages/fees of a top top player! They did get Sturridge though.

Sturridge is by far the better player anyway, Chelski have done well there, Coyle will improve him.

Yup, you only have to see how Wilshere benefitted from the experience at Bolton. Especially as coyle likes to play football as well. Will be good to finally get the chance to watch Sturridge and see what all the fuss is about. Sparky rate him very highly when he was at City!

Full credit to Pardew; he's not getting involved in mudslinging over Carroll, he's given a neutral view in his press conference which makes Carrolls stance and Newcastle's board stance look silly.

edit:// Ahsley has confirmed to Pardew that they can spend the full £35million, Pardew said they made a few bids yesterday night but where getting quoted silly prices.

I really hope he does well for the remainder of the season and comes back with the ability to compete for a place in our starting 11. IMO he has shown more enthusiasm than any of our front 3 when he's played, and thats what we've been lacking amongst other things this season.

My worry is that with Torres in the team that he'll be loaned out again next season and end up leaving us, hope Carlo has faith in him.

Drogba will be moved on, if Sturridge get's physically stronger he will be a perfect replacement next season. His shooting is just as good, he is fast and technically very good.

You'll probably keep Anelka because he is more of a team player than Drogba - seems a funny thing to say about le sulk :)

Also, I've jsut seen where the Obertan rumours come from; The Daily Fail.

What a shock, the Fail trying to undermine United players. They need to get over themselves. They are trash journo's and fully deserve the blackout Fergie handed them.

Agreed on both, good move by Chelsea, Coyle will steer him in the right direction.

United should have loaned him out, he has too much talent to sit on the bench for two full years, to be fair to The Mail those rumours have been around for a while in Manchester, not that he wanted to leave but that he wanted to play alot more even if it meant going on loan so he could prove himself.

Can't loan him out right now though; he's needed as cover for Giggs and Nani. Until Valencia is back at least. Also we need to make sure Park is fully fit after the Asia cup.

I don' think it does, I'm just not sure he has fully recovered yet from Malaria yet.

I just find it funny there were so many to do with the spunksters.

I think it is important for him to get more ball time, this move is much better for him and Chelsea rather than doing a swap.
