Its not like they aren't used to it with the old bolton, birmingham and long throw stoke teams. Its part of the right tactic I think against arsenal, I mean there's only 1 winner when some midget like arshavin goes in for a header(has he before?) against even another midfielder like gerrard, bowyer and barton etc.

The Pienaar situation should have been sorted out a long time ago so now we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Rather than get a couple of million for him now it looks like we're selling him off on the cheap, or end up losing him for nothing at the end of the season...

Shame for him to go, but our midfield i think has been fairly steady overall, its just our lack of goals from our strikers that has bamboozled us...

It's a real shame Donovan didn't want to play outside of the US while he's in his prime.

Try the official one, rather than some ESPN bullshite: Official Site of the Premier League | Matchday | Fair Play Table | Title

A discipline table is NOT the fair play league.

Discipline is a key thing though, fair play is quite easy to hide behind even if you full of dirty tackling dicks, all you got to do is kiss arse with the officials in every match.
The fact that you can only gain a maximum of 10pts from cards in the official table there shows that you could get 4 players sent of and 8 bookings and still not look too bad for that match!

I rather look at a straight up Card/game ratio .... as well as seeing how many fouls been commited by and against.

lol so let me get this right, you are going to ignore a table stating how many yellows and reds cards you have had? Your table has a bullshit red/yellow ratio where the max points you can get for one game is 10 points but if it wasn't capped you would be firmly in 16th. Lets us be honest here, the fair play league is a big exercise in bullshit if red/yellow cards are marginalised for the sake of crap like 'positive play'.

Face facts Wazz, your disciplinary record is shite. How many reds was it since Wenger took over? ;)

lol let me guess, the manager who has played BY FAR the most Premier League games? You need to do better than you dirty little blue rentboy. :D

Oh and Fergie stands at about 50 reds iirc, Wenger 85ish. ;)

No, there's no ignoring it. I pointed out that we're always considered to be one of the 'fairer' teams by referencing the fair play table, which you then took to only be about cards by providing a card-only table. Discipline is about more than just cards, it's about how your players act and how the club acts. Or do you think things like harrassing the referee, pushing officials and screaming at them is not discipline? I wasn't discussing cards, I was discussing our general outlook and approach to the game.

You'll also note that the vast majority of those cards came from his early reign, when he'd inherited a team of people who were already established as not having discipline. Since those players have gone, our disciplinary record has been top notch.

And even if you do want to only consider cards, being 10th is hardly an outrage, is it?

On cards, 16th as it stands. As for Wengers reds, yes alot of them came in those first 5 years there is no denying it but let us talk about THIS season that is happening right now. At the mid-point of the season you have 5 red cards, that is 2nd worst offenders in the league. You also have 35 yellows, placing you 8th worst. You are a bright fella Wazz, your team keeps calling everyone else kickers but the numbers don't lie when it comes to discipline your team is one of the worst around this year.

It is sheer hipocracy for your players to be slagging anyone else off for rough play and as for long ball tactics well there was me thinking football was a game of strategy where you play to your opponents weakenesses. All I hear from Wilshire and Cesc this season is how you are the best side, play the best football and everyone is out to stop you playing but they never ever mention Arsenal's terrible discipline or the horrible tackles your own side has made. More than happy to slaughter others for it though and start vendettas against players who made tackles no worse than your own.

is that true? xD

The numbers aren't spot on, I just remember it being something like 73 v 42 in early 2008 and just tallied it up from there based on what little I could find. I wouldn't put my mortgage on it lets put it that way but the papers have reminded us all of Wengers red record many times, they don't do that for no reason.

you can hardly slag off someone's longball tactics if they worked and beat a much stronger team

it's not Ipswitch's fault that Wenger's tactics are the same every single game regardless of opposition either :p

Indeed, Ipswich were great. Credit to Wenger for not slagging them off, shame on Cesc for being a fucking cry-baby after losing a game they barely contested at times.

Rapidly coming to a conclusion about life, you cannot expect loyalty from men who don't like football, they are practically a third gender of the species. Two 'friends' of mine neither of whom like football even in the slightest, both are completely unreliable, especially when it comes to do things as a group. Too much focus on self instead of socialising and having fun. :p

When you think about it just a few short years ago Liverpool had Macscherano - Alonso - Gerrard - Torres. How did they fuck that up?

Pretty much all the top four was stronger back then :)

According to Sky Sports News Avram Grant will be sacked after todays game regardless of the result and Martin O'Neill brought in as the new manager.

They are using it as their lead story and seem confident about it.

You can't finish your own "leeeeeeeeeeeee" that quickly

Barney would be dissapoint.

But if Ruud does come back then good on him. He never got the run he deserved due to injury and politics.

My money's on Grant staying and moving upstairs as director of football; the guy is too nice for his own good. O'Neil isn't a fix, the man's a liability, easy to anger, tactically naive IMO (never has a plan B) and doesn't play well with owners. West Ham currently have a squad that work hard for the manager and play some good football, MON could ruin that in a week and isolate the squad.

Interesting segment on Football Focus right now on Qatar. The Qatar bid team want the event in Summer, they prepared their bid for a summer world cup and seem to not want to antagonise the footballing world, it's Sepp leading the charge for a winter world cup, all on his own.

Everz will be mighty dissapoint today. His once favourite player Dzeko is starting against his beloved wolves.

I think a couple of début goals will be the order of the day.
