With any luck Carlo could convince him to stay (assume he stays himself :p) and then loan him out to a PL team for a season, by which time Drogba and Anelka will be winding down and hopefully Sturridge will be settled into our first 11. Realistically he's got no chance breaking into our first 11 next year if he did stay.

We've lost some proper talent though because of our fuckwit board, so frustrating

Would Stoch count as one? He looked pretty decent everytime he played and ripped the dutch league up.

Yup for one, I've got no qualms about people being allowed to leave when they've not managed to dislodge anyone in the squad, but he went out on loan to Twente for a season, then was sold to Fenerbache the following summer! Doesn't make any sense for a club that's trying to bring their youngsters through.

You only have to look as far as Arsenal, Liverpool and United to see how you blood the kids into the team and see how they handle it, rather than dumping them on expected a turnaround in a critical game and then flogging them off because they're couldnt do it.

Bruma looks like he'd be the next one to be shipped tbh, has something about him but don't see him being given a shot at Chelsea.

Exactly - he can play right-back supposedly but where do you fit him with ahead of JT, Alex, Ivanovic and Luiz all able to play centre-back as well. Same goes for van Aanholt and Bertrand, realistically they have no chance of displacing Ashley Cole.

If they're not good enough fine, but how the fk do you tell without letting them show you what they can do?

Agreed, cant say much we at Wolves are guilty at doing that. Mark Davies enter from the right... the lad was a shining beacon but MM didn't like him. Fucking joke.

Have a feeling the same will happen to Mendez-Laing, playing first team football on loan at Peterborough having only just turned 18, but he won't be dropped for any of our usual names.

Matej Delac may be another one to pass Chelsea by.. even though he seems a beast.

Does anyone know a place where you can watch matches after they have happened. I've applied for a job as a freelance writer for DC United here in Washington and they want a sample piece. I watched the game last thursday night but I'd like to watch it again to really know what happened before I submit this. Cheers and rep for help ofc.

Dzeko finally scores for City.. hope this starts them coming as he has looked an absolute shadow of the player he actually is.

That whole republik of mancunia thing is creepy. It's got a weird cult vibe about it.

I'm sure many other clubs have got similar sites but they aren't waved around as much this one, so I've not seen them.

If it's just any games you're after you might find some here;

Bolt.cd

But I'm not sure specifically for MLS games.

A mate here in DC just gave me his ESPN 360 account details so i've been able to watcha stream on there! :D Thanks though!

Nice, Blackburn loss.

Tommorow is D-Day for us, we need a point or three to get out of the relegation zone, once we are out we can use it as a catalyst to push on.

Ffs Wolves, don't let me down. :|

Dorimor, since pepe took over his contract has been on a 12 month basis.

He himself has stated that a manager should not stay for too long, as it becomes hard to work with the same players everyday, and everything goes stale. he gets sit for winning worth the team he has but he's doing it. Managers have went to teams before where players have already been in place and it had not worked. The players obviously respect him and his philosophy. Its hard to slate him.

He was a massive name at Barcelona and was already well respected by all the players there, remember as the likes of Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta, Messi, Pique and so forth were all in there youth or breaking through for the club he was playing for Barcelona. Then added to the fact he was coached Barcelona B before he was offered the big job shows (at least to me) that he was already going to be well known and respected in the job, where the players will want to respect him.

As for the philosophy it has been with Barcelona since the days of Cruyff and has been taught through all the youth. Anyone could be a success with that Barcelona team, what should take the credit is there fantastic youth system, which constantly churns out talent.

Rjikyard didn't manage it. Everyone forgets that. Forget the transfers for a moment; even if he was responsible for them (which I doubt at a club like barca, too many politics for a coach to be solely in charge), he has them playing near perfect passing football, week in, week out.

He does yes. but its the style they play at every level, it's they way they are trained from a young age. When they come across a team that stops them from doing that he doesn't have many answers.

Pep was the key playmaker and the captain of the dream team era. He knows the ethos, he was part of Cruyff side which created the way that Barcelona play, he knows it in and out and I highly doubt any other team in the world would be able to perform as well as they do.

As Raven said, some signings have slotted perfectly.. Alves and umm.. Maxwell? The rest are either getting 10-20 games on the bench or have been loaned and shipped on. Plus made an absolute mare by getting rid of Eto'o.

And yes I didn't mention Villa, simply because for a striker of his class his return has been no better/worse then that of Zlatans. Who was a terrible signing as the big swede is the total wrong sort of player for Barca.

No offense Cho but it comes across as if you obsessed about city, almost bitter. I dunno how it work but as Wolves we rarely if ever mention Baggies on the level that every united fan seems to be doing at city.

Bit odd is all.

;)

Bitter? :) At them hurling abuse about the Munich disaster, the classless bastards. Yes, I am definately bitter about that.

What do you make of "Team Dubai Getafe", tierk? Bit much, no?

I can understand people renaming stadiums and getting deals for advertising on shirts, shorts, socks hell even shoes. If someone came and told me we are changing the name of LFc to Team ...... LFC i would be severely disappointed if it was accepted.

I am not sure how reliable that is.

Marc should know the real answer.

It has been doing the rounds here for a while now and the idea is not for him to coach for a season or two. They are looking for a complete revamp of the entire national side, from youth setup to coaching to selection etc etc.

Who better than Pepe considering he has a first hand experience of this great system that is BFC?

Agree, there is no guarantee for success. Why does he have to have a plan b? they lose rarely control most games even if it is a game they have lost.

Revamping the system.. hmm does that mean pumping a few brazilians with passports eh ? ;)
