if we beat man utd twice we'd have had a good chance, who would expect that to happen after that performance though?

The fact is we are out of it, even if we could beat Man U twice I don't see the failure that we've suffered for the last couple of months happening to the other teams above us.

Missed the game, was pleased looking at the result tho! Wish I could've seen it, although it sounds like it was a rather dull game. How was Chelsea's new defender?

Looked like he's got a bit of pace about him but didn't play for long.

Torres had 19 touches of the ball today - less than anyone else on the field. Looked like he felt that he'd made a huge mistake.

Which was nice.

Oh, and Agger fouled him right in the face. Class :D

torres had a better game than Carroll :p

don't know what people expect him to do with the ball when there's 10 liverpool players in their own box

Or he was playing in a new team after training with his team-mates for 1-2 days, who're playing in a new system, on top of the anxiety/pressure/whatever you want to call it of the situation :p

The only way he'll have made a mistake is if Chelsea win nothing for the duration of his stay at Stamford Bridge and Liverpool sweep all before them, remind me how much he won in Liverpool? :D

Was impossible for Torres to do anything, the early chance asside where Maxi put him through with a delightful pass. Drogba was stroppy child mode today, Lampard very quiet and Essien who is an imense player doesnt really seem to have a role. Worse service than he was getting at Liverpool.

Dalgish set up perfect, i couldnt give a shit about playing 5 at the back if it means we win every game 1-0. Still a lot of weak links in the Liverpool team though, especially Johnson and Maxi. Combined they almost cost us the game today and will cost us games in the future.

You could look at it that way, or you could say that Liverpool beat Chelski at home, minus torres or either of their new signings and Kenny even managed to get a run out for the woeful Poulson just to rub the salt in! :D

Lol, you prick :D

We were outplayed on the day and I think Steve Clark is proving a shrewd acquisition for the scousers, whilst we have the seemingly inept Emenalo by comparison. Carlo didn't do the hype any favours by starting with Torres, but the other 10 players in blue didn't exactly help the cause.

We'll get a week off when they make today count for nothing by losing to the mighty Wigan :D

You could also look at it in a real way, Chelsea carried on with the form of last few months and Liverpool did what they needed to do to win.

Tbh I think Essien needs to be benched for a while and Ramires given a chance for starters.

Agreed.

As for the people with the predictable scousers coming out of the woodwork crap, we've won the last 4 now and I can't remember going anywhere, apart from on holiday to Oz :)

Look at all the scousers reappearing?

Inevitable, it won't last though, if we snag a 19th title they will all go on a 3 month holiday, then come back and claim that 'this is our year!' :D

Same old red scousers, full of mouth when you win, full of bitterness and tears when you lose. Everton might not win much but at least they understand dignity, I look forward to revisiting this moment when the sun sets on your new false dawn. ;)
