I´m tryng the beta too and can´t find anything better than daoc in it, i will test it a bit more but plz tell me what i´m missing.

You will get away with 3:rd party software. Blizzard ain't the best guys to keep cheaters away from thier games. Just take a look at Diablo...

So far, all the anti-wow arguments mentioned can be thrown at DAoC too.

And what is all this crap doing in a goodbye thread anyhow ???

Anti-hack Measures
Blizzard has a strong anti-cheat stance. They've always aggressively pursued hack programs that are designed to attack their systems. These typically have been dupe programs, because they exploit bugs and flaws in the game's software. These dupe programs, when publicly available, have at times brought the online gaming servers to near collapse. So Blizzard has aggressively patched and fixed many of these exploits as soon as they became aware of them.
With bots, Blizzard has taken a more direct approach. Since their first appearance on the realm, Blizzard has banned over 200,000 Battle.net accounts that have been associated with bots. The first of these mass bannings took place on April 1, 2003.

Blizzard Banned 20,000 War 3 accounts

Blizzard has closed 20,000 Battle.net accounts found to be using the Warcraft III map hack, and the CD keys have been banned for two weeks.

Last month, Blizzard acknowledged that a Warcraft III map hack that can dispel the fog of war was being used by some to gain an unfair advantage in Battle.net's ladder rankings. Blizzard has announced its first major response, the cancellation of 20,000 Warcraft III Battle.net accounts that have used the map hack.
Blizzard Bans Battle.net Accounts
403,000 won't be playing online now.

October 01, 2003 - 403,000 cheaters, hackers, and nefarious types have been banned by Blizzard from their online gaming portal, Battle.net. 276,000 StarCraft players, 86,000 Diablo II players, and 41,000 Warcraft III players have had their CD-keys permanently banned for breaking the rules of the gaming service. A further 14,000 Warcraft III CD keys have been banned from ladder play for one month, and 2,000 CD keys are banned from ladder play permanently.
Opinion: Banned Diablo II Accounts

Blizzard recently banned another 112,000 users from the game due to cheating. We give our thoughts.

Blizzard recently banned another 112,000 accounts on Diablo 2, on counts of cheating. What this means to you and me is that they were most frequently duplicating rare items for profit, and we are speaking in the George and Abe sense.

ye you're right phule :m00:

Blizzard suck bigtime at keeping there games hacker free.. during all time i played it i can only recall one big sweep of bans. which was when they brought out there new ladder system .. and the rust storm deleted all duped items and all the dupers etc etc and other cheats got banned.

apart from that blizzard IMO are shit at keeping there games cheat free. maybe with WoW it will be different because we r paying subs. and we demand game gets policed by Blizzard staff etc etc.

but going by there track record for having MAJOR cheats in there game and then not fixing it for AGES.. imo is bullshit. and tbh thats the only thing that is making me think twice about buying wow. due to it being a blizzard game. altrho i will try it . but i wont be suprised if cheats to fill up after some time.

p.s /salute n bye to original thread starter :)

Sorry Jpeg, but I don't see where DAoC is all that better. How long it took Mythic to effectively counter radar (and we can even discuss about how effectively it is)? It was allready in widespread use even before DAoC was released in Europe.

I don't want to stir up a debate here, but be sure that radar usage was far more common then most people realise, and it wasn't the only form of cheating in existence either. How many ever got banned ? (granted it's hard to ban people for something that you can't really detect)
