ok the title was a shamless pull from a Spunge album

whats the best cover song you have heard? ok i know it would never be as good as the original, but i mean there are some covers which just shit on the original - like a punk cover of some american classic.

Anyway whats your favourite cover?

Nerf pallies.

Bah was just gonna mention hurt.

Also:

aerosmiths cover of 'i dont wanna miss a thing' although old now is still a great.

Metallica - astronomy is fantastic without a doubt.

Michael Andrews - Mad World...very good example of how some1 can turn a completely shite song into a great one :D

Pantera - Planet caravan, although they haven't changed much of the black sabbath version apart from parts of the solo.

Rolf Harris - Stairway to heaven xDDDDD Nuff said.

Just to mention a few

agreed...

but tbh: Jeff Buckley's cover of Halleluja (original of Leonard Cohen) but its only a vauge reflection of Cohens true musical power (he r pwn!)
or... i also like The Hutingtons' cover of KKK took my baby away

oh oh oh! and Pennywise's cover of Astro Zombies originally created by The Misfits!

Opeth - Circle of the Tyrants (origninally by Celtic Frost)

and Nirvana wern't shit, just way overrated, but whenever an artist dies, especially if he/she is still producing records they get hailed as the greatest thing since sliced bread etc.

They did Enter Sandman at Reading which was actually....pretty good.

Also the first time I saw them live, they were supported by a similar band called Shootin' Goon who were a great ska band, and did a cover of YMCA at the end of their set - dunno about the best cover I've ever heard but it was good fun.

Oh... too many great songs has been made even greater by other artists so I'll mention 3 of those i like a lot.

Songtitle - Original artist - coverband/artist

Fame - Bowie/Lennon/some other dude - Infectious Grooves. So intensely sweet beat.

Symptom of the Universe - Black Sabbath - Sepultura. A great original piece modified with aggresion and speed.

For whom the bell tolls - Metallica - Idiots Rule. A really cool version of it, and the song is just amazing.

3 cool tracks imo. :D
