its not like its not happened before..............

Disappearance of Ben Needham - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

trem and throdders are right in their own ways, the couple neglected their child who was too young to look after herself, shit happens, its not like they were down the local shopping center is it fs, they should have had more about them.

As a parent my heart goes out to them, but so does my anger at their gross neglect, in england we like to get behind people in times of crisis (call it the dunkirk spirit or whatever) and theres nothing wrong with that, i only hope her memory doesnt fade away and they find her.......

(i spell checked this post as well)

expect lots of the same with princess diana 10th anniversay death thing (dunkirk spirit i mean)

Maybe because Britain likes to jump on every major crisis that has happened for the past 100 years, people see the British as a soft touch(which is true)

And your all gonna wibble on about BNP and race hate, but its true. People pass through around 3-4 safe countries to get here, just because they know the government will roll over and give them things. If your asylum application fails, its fine, you get an appeal and whilst that happens, you get fed and watered in a centre somewhere. And if it fails again, you can just disappear, or maybe the government will not bother about kicking you out.

Its the same thinking about the way 16 year old schoolgirl mums get a house, all because they were too stupid enough not to use protection, some even WANTING to have children at that age.

With the greatest of respect, this isn't really true, despite what the Daily Mail would say.

My God, I almost invoked Godwin's Law then.

Actually, in terms of successful stranger committed abductions kids go missing every 5 or 6 days.... At least that's what the 2003/2003 figures show. And that's stranger abductions. 3 time as many abductions take place with people they know (discounting parents taking their own children for custody purposes) So in fact there is on average almost 1 child a day abducted in this country for nasty reasons.

Whilst i'd agree with the sentiments regarding parent neglect I don't believe it's the priority right now.

First and foremost: find the kid.

After this everyone can have their proverbial 2 pennies worth and start pandering with ideas of neglect or conspiracy. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an enquiry into the parents actions once the whereabouts of the girl has been made....oh and yet another charity of some sort set up (if there isn't one already)

Anyone without kids can hardly comment on this, sorry Leggy you know I love you but how do you know how it feels to have a child and to care for them like you should?

Hey dude, no need to apologise. I don't for one second agree with those parents leaving that kid alone in the bedroom. And I have always spoken out against it.

what I don't agree with is idiots in here claiming that the parents are to blame for everything. Lets not forget the fact that there is a kidnapper involved here.

And don't take everything so personally (rich coming from me) but I never once called you personally a bloody bedroom expert. I was actually referring to one of the other posters.

Bizzarely I agree with you here, even though I dont really see the relevance.

I think the soft-touch bit was sort of linked to the "1..2..3..awwww" media reaction and then kind of ranted into the asylum bit. I think. :)

Its a shame the media didnt focus on the neglect aspect in this case more.

Not to get at the parents - their own guilt will be far worse than anything the media could do - poor sods.

But because it might have actually done some good!

I see parents like the McCanns every week when we go shopping - theres always tons of kids left in cars in the car park.

I can understand this a little when its a lone parent but I've seen couples get out and leave babies in the car while they wander off into mothercare - something screwy there methinks - I bet they dont even see the problem...

Just think for a second...
With this kind of european-wide exposure for a kid with easily recognisable gammy eyes, the perpetrators must be shitting their pants that their haul will get recognised and the game would be up. I wouldn't be surprised if she were 3 foot under in a forest somewhere by now.

I'm sure its a difficult balance, but I do wonder if media over-exposure might harm more than help.

shock and sickened by you all

I just came across this message re; madaline and i have to say it is the first time throughout all the coverage for this kidnapping that i felt truly sickened by what i saw written. Not just the post but the replies also. Ok, its given that they left their children, their instincts were wrong, and despite feeling safe and secure at the family resort, and being able to see the apartment, maybe we all would not have done the same, who knows? we may well have! dont be so quick to judge, you were not there. How can you blame them for all of this? no parent wants to lose their child in them circumstances! These parents are going through absolute turmoil, they cant turn back the clock, the want their baby back, shouldnt they recieve support from other parents who should possibly understand how they feel? their hearts have been ripped out, i would literally die inside if one of my babies got taken. How can you all say those things about them? i am so shocked i cant describe. I just wanna say i hope every single one of you never has to experience losing your child, and if you do, i hope you go through twice as much pain as them parents must be feeling. they have raised that child, their first born for 3 years, put her to bed and kissed her face hundreds of times, worried about her millions more, held her, loved her, adored her and then made a terrible terrible mistake that they will regret for the rest of their lives. Wheres your hearts? jesus?
i am extremely happy i do not know any of you as i would be ashamed to stand next to any of you, if this site is how you get your kicks then thats all good, everyone to their own, but half you fuckin sicko's should be locked up, the things you came out with in the replies are almost as sick as what has happened, you should be so ashamed. God help if any of you have got kids, cos if this is the role models they have, our next generation will be un-forgiving, selfish, bitter, judegmental and sick to the core. You massive set of fuck wits.

Yeah but the champagne lifestyle and business class flights to meet the pope and US politicians more than make up for it, eh?. I am just waiting for the Hello magazine picture exclusive of her funeral.

call me uncaring or whatever but 1000s of kids die or go missing every day in the 3rd world, you don't see this sort of thing then do you?

Note: I hope they find her safe and well ofc but i hope she doesnt have to go back to her parents who are clearly not capable of looking after kids.

 Not another one.

Scum leaving their kids unattended while they go for a night out arent deserving of sympathy. Criminal charges due to child neglect maybe, but not sympathy.

Fuck that, since when are we not allowed to swear?

as for whateverherbloodyname is, who cares? Whatever her fate is, it has been sealed, its not going to change because a few nasty, grumpy old trouts on the internet say nasty things about her parents.

The point has always been more about the media than anything else. Given the sheer amount of horrible shit that goes on in the world, the frenzy over this one incident was completely disproportionate. It reeked of MWWS.
