Thank you everyone who came with us tonight

I would just like to say thank you to all the hibs who came on our trip to midgard tonight, despite all your (well founded) reservations about it not working, I had the full support of you all for trying something different.

It was great to see that turn out from all sides of hib life, for a real whole-realm experience; one of my aims was to provide an inclusive attack where we could all join together.

I take full responsibility for the failure, but I would like to thank especially Llaw Arian and Legends of Camelot for providing distraction attacks throughout the night, and Terra Dominus and Black Dragons for the same during the evening, we couldn't have got as afar as we did without them.

Unfortunately my theory about taking defended relics was completely wrong, but I had a lot of fun trying it.

Some of the good points was the amount of people we can get out when the raid is organised semi openly, we did put the wind up the mids, they spent a lot of time confused in their own frontier, and it seems the projected spies were not in evidence as the relic keep was in fact not defended when we left.

I would also like to apologise to all in CET time, the preparations dragged on a bit, and we got to the relic later than expected, 11:30 GMT rather than 11:00, which was getting late for you guys.

And big grats to the mid GTAOE of death, i had no idea there were so many evil handbag chuckers in middieland.

hehe, you didnt see the volume of tanks we had on them :D

i tried looking at the gates of blendrake faste when we were in full swing once, i panned the camera around from facing out away from the keep, to inwards, it went, snow, snow, keep wall, snow...er...snow? where's the gate?! turned out that i'd manage to pan around with few enough frames to totally miss the gates :p, happend twice more before i had to pan the camera up from the floor VERY slowly, what i saw was a sea of cloaks and this small ocean of shimmering names making up what i'd guess was at least 30 tanks on the doors at any one time, managed to go ld several times during lord rushes due to the sheer volume of data to go through bottlenecking my con :p

yes the lag was insane, but damn it was fun :D

Nice try you kept us on our toes for some time. But we soon sorted ourselves out and met you head on at Grall keep.
It was fun tonight, you maybe be good but we are better ;)

Yup, was a very good attempt. I think the albs stuffed the element of surprise up for you though, as we had about 7fg of albs running around the middie frontier in the couple of hours before you arrived, including Alpha and Wildfire, so I guess emain must of been a little quiet for a change ;) Certainly hope they werent there at the hibbies request, but I guess they probably have as many cheaty spy accounts in your realm as they do in ours.

Had some great fights during the night, Hlid and the first attack on Grallarhorn in particular. The lagfest at Blendrake was interesting to say the least.

learning curve

Just need to get the army all on the same page and have a way of each wing commander being in touch with each other and the main relic force.

Timing and pulling the army together at the crucial time is the key. This game and its constant LD and relogging due to bugs makes it a total pain in the ass...not to mention the dearth of chat channels.

Anyway, good effort, and and as usual the overpopulated alb zerg screwed it up. Cant wait till Mythic puts in the population bonuses. :)

Albs had 4FG of gimps setup at HMG in Odins, they were soon dispached as the zerg arrived though :)

Armolas (and all other organisers/leaders)

Was a fantastic effort, definitely not a failure. Sure, we didnt get the relic, but we sure showed them who was boss.

It felt great to be the one with the upper hand for a change, instead of attacking a keep only to have 5 times as many Albs/Mids wipe us out.

Lag was a killer though, i dont usually get lag in the game but i sure did last night :) found that turning names off and /effects none helped a little.

So, all in all, well worth bringing Poca out of retiurement for, loved it.

We knew what we were getting into, and I for one am glad that Midgard was able to put up a good defense. It just means that when we do succeed it will be all the more sweet :)

Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this Armolas, and ofc to all the hippies who turned up :D
