People won't probably understand the kind of worship that goes into the monorarchy of thailand.

Unlike in the european and uk monarchies, almost everyone respects and worships the king. People will never look directely into the eyes of the king or queen or anyone from the royal family when they adress them, as a sign of deep respect for them.

So if anyone makes fun of the current king in any way, it it considered as blasphemy and disrespect.

I'm half thai, but i'm raised a belgian, so i'm raised european. I don't care about that picture, but I can really understand why the Thai governement is very upset about it. Also the feet above the head is something my mother thought me too. It's just a the worst insult in thai culture. I can't stand if someone has his feet at the same height as my head especially pointing in my direction.

My mother treates pictures and books of the king and the high monks with the same kind of respect because she's buddhist.

not that I am pro offending people, but I do see freedom of speech as an important issue and after hearing about the European (forgot what country) who was arrested and judged to 10 years of prison just after new years eve in Thailand for painting a picture of the king, I personally felt very akward towards Thailand and sort of feel something like this was deserved to happen to them.

The guy who got 10 years did not paint disrespectfull pictures by the way, he painted the king because he saw him as honorable, still got hard sentence...

Funny story, there's a city in finland name Rauma. So, you could say it's T-Rauma. Which is kinda interesting as it's not really known for it's tea.

Well...maybe not that funny...but i did get so drunk there that when others went to the bar(i couldn't remember this, or the trip to the city) i strolled around the city for hours, not knowing where i was(don't know the city that well) and woke up from a strange girls apartment. Which was nice.

He is respected because he's their king, the leader of their country, it's a simple as that ofcourse he did many good things for his people and that's what a king is for. It's like europe in the old days, a king didn't have to do anything but beeing a king to be respected.

Their spiritual leader is a high buddhist or monk, that's another person.

There is just a gigantic difference between the modern western culture and the eastern culture.

I cannot explain to you guys to be honest, aldough i'm raised european I have a thai influence (duh).

Evidently we met at a club some 2 miles from the club my friends went to(i couldn't find my id at the door so left out) and ofcourse i didn't say anything about not remembering sh*t

No no, i didn't forget my ID. I couldn't find it(drunk) at the club A. I wondered off, ended up in club B(don't know about the door 'cause i can't remember) and hooked up with the girl.

Funny that way when i get drunk, i can play games, talk to people and function like a normal human being and be totally wasted and the only tell tale sign is that i slur and other usual drunk things.
