Like a lot of other folks here, I was on the raid, so here's my views (note: these are MY personal views, and should not be taken as the views of RD).

I enjoyed the raid - it got off to a slow start, but we got into a routine after a while and I think (in general) it worked well. Some people have complained about Ruathian not knowing the way to TG and dying outside. What I have to say to them is twofold:
1) SI is still a relatively new area. I for one have not explored it fully and wouldn't be able to find my way to TG

2) Level 50s can just as easily die on the way to Lair where they've probably been countless times. Dying is part of the game and sometimes it just happens. Just unlucky, and somehow I don't think Ruathian had planned to die outside..

I was one of the ones who did get irritated over the lotto. This is for three reasons:
1) there was a lot of confusion, which led to a lot of ill-feeling e.g. as someone here said (I can't remember your name off the top of my head - sorry!) it would have been better had Ruathian turned cg to leader only speak and stated very clearly that he had chosen to claim the uber ring. I for one accepted (and still do) that he should be allowed to claim an item that he wanted, and I did see that he wanted to claim ring - I thoroughly stand by his decision there, but it would have saved confusion if he had said "I'm going to claim the <insert ring name here> drop now"

2) the system of lotto'ing which gave those whose class had had a specific class item drop 2 votes (one in class specific, one in general) isn't a good system. However, I notice Ruathian has also said this himself, and I'm pleased to see that, so that's enough said there.

3) on a more personal level, I (and the other RD members there) was irritated by Ruathian's unecessary threat concerning banning our guild from any future raids. This was because one of our members (I won't name names) was admittedly abusing the system and going up to vote for every item, this obviously annoyed Ruathian (it would have annoyed me had I been in his position, and it did annoy the RD guild members present). The member though, had been asked to stop by the officers present, and had (for whatever reason) not done so. This caused Ruathian to make the threat against RD in the cg. I don't doubt that our member was in the wrong, but I think this situation would have been better dealt with by Ruathian PM'ing one of our members (we had a fg there) and passing on his complaint there, rather than publicly in the cg.

RD have methods of dealing with members who misbehave (please see http://www.realmdefenders.co.uk for our Code of Conduct and discipline structure) and any of our members would have I'm sure gladly explained this and taken the appropriate action had they been approached personally by Ruathian. This said, we could not have reach across the world and taken the misbehaving member's mouse away instantly to stop him abusing the lotto system, and even booting him from guild wouldn't have stopped him doing so, which is why I feel that Ruathian should have had faith in the guild to deal with the problem, rather than resorting to threatening the entire guild for the conduct of one member.

As I have said though, this was a personal (or rather guild) grievance, and I don't feel the need for it to be discussed in connection with the raid in general. My reason for posting it here was to clear up any confusion which may have occurred in the minds of others present at the raid who witnessed what Ruathian said, and RD's subsequent reaction. I will point out though, that I was told by the member in question that he had returned the drop(s) he won and apologised to Ruathian for his behaviour, so as far as I'm concerned, this is now water under the bridge.

Ruathian - if you do wish to discuss this further, please contact me in game and I will be happy to discuss it rationally with you. There isn't any need, imo, for any more public discussion to take place over the event

I will go on another of Ruathian's raids, simply because none of us are perfect, and are always on a learning curve, but how can we continue to learn if not given the opportunity to try again? (i.e. by a mass boycott of raids by Ruathian in this case)

noleft axe droped no 1 handed axe for zerker drops but the ring did so i claimed it as all in cg agreed i could do at the start of the raid

those are the facts so dundee shut up its not my problem you joined cg late and missed the dam rules at start

if ppl had said no then id have entered the lotto like every one els but thay said yes claim a drop

there is 260 tg drops then add tincturs and dyes so the odd on any one of the 3 i nominated as a drop id claim was about 1%

it was just luck that the ring droped on this tg raid

would you all be bitching now if it had not droped and i got nothing like the last 9 raids o sorry i entered for 1 lot item on raid 6 and won a hammer

1 lotto enter in 10 raids i think i deserved to take a drop after 10 raids as i recal some alliances and guilds alow the raid planer to claim 1 drop every raid i disagree with that so i nominate drops every few raids and if it drops i claim it so far 4 times i nominated a drop and only 1 time has it droped.

Ive been to alot of tg raids.. and my self are against this lotto after raid thingie...Thg's lottery on the fom forums has been the best imo, you get 1 vote and you chose to lotto for class specific or general items... make an unoffical eu exc forum just for tg raids or somth and have all that want to do tg hunts register there and
have lotto there etc... just an idea

and i think it was a ok raid we did what we should killed some mobs got some drops.. maybe rauth was abit strong in his words
against rd and np but since it was such a long time raid and ppl bitching from left to right i would have lost it to...

Everytime you know something for a fact - it's basically a lie or something you've heard from others.

The thing that seem to piss people off, is that you did not state that you claimed the ring at the beginning of the lotto, which made people want to vote for the ring, and thus giving up the chance to vote for something else - leaving them with no chance to get anything they wanted at all.

To add to this, I'm not sure it's occuring still, but during the old legion raids, there was drops disappearing between /roll's, what ever happened to them?
( 3 staves when I got the first /roll, then nobody took a staff during the remaining GM's, and next time it was my turn there was no staff left - explain please. )

Actually, ring wasnt set as a class specific item, and by the time we came for to the "free for all" items, where everyone had a new vote, he told us he claimed ring, or if someone asked, dont know, but anyways, noone oculd have saved his/her vote for ring, since by the time it was announced he claimed ring, everyone still had 1 new vote. If they saved vote, it was cause they didnt read (or understand) rules. But as said before, rules wasnt good, but thats another issue. The point it, everyone had a vote left when all knew Rua took ring, even if they had voted before.

Was a pretty good raid imo. We all agreed to Darkspirit claiming one of the items like he said in the beginning of the raid. (Yes you DID agree if you still stayed for the raid)

The only problem I saw was that when it came to lotto there wasn't a list of the drops, so ppl wasn't really sure of what had dropped and so on. Next time just list all the drops first so ppl really can evaluate which drop(s) they wanna roll for.

To sum it up:

Ruathian preclaimed either a axe, a left axe or a ring.

A ring dropped.

Ruathian claims it.

This is what happened, and this is what makes a couple of people upset. It's a fair assumption that those people really want this ring, and got pissed off that it dropped and was preclaimed. Now, when something is preclaimed, its _PRE-CLAIMED_. This means you can kiss your arse goodbye about the item if you joined a raid under these conditions that was crystal clear from the beginning. Whining about the ring on BW will sure as hell not gonna get you the ring, so that tactic is just another dead end.

And if someone blaims NP as a guild for this, rethink, this whining (by whining im talking about the guys that whined about the ring at the raid) is conducted by a couple of NP members, and i feel sorry for these sad individuals, but noone can point a finger at NP as a guild just because they got one or two braindead members. So knock the NP bashing off please.

If Ruathian died or cant find his way around TG very well is of no concern, you may think he's a moron and noone is threatening you under gunpoint to join another one of his raids ever again, but that alone doesnt justify him being flamed.

Reading this makes me feel ashame to be a fellow Midgardian to some people here! pity that some cant appreciate the things done, but they also have to point out facts that are not relevant to the raid at all.
