Ive switched the news area onto the orange scheme. Tell us what you think

Does anyone miss the brushed metal (or similar effect) from the old webby? New one too sterile?

orange & green are iirc, opposite colours, therefore they clash, and the test bw site is a perfect demonstration of eeeeeevil clashing.

I kind of miss the brush effect, though putting it on the new site with its current design would probably not work.

Any particular reason you stuck with green?

I don't like it, personally. Looks a bit dated. The navigation, layout, etc of the new site seem to be almost identical to the old one - basically a "template update". Might have been nice to see a reconstruction from the ground up.
