Hi, we have a pond that has a terrapin in. Had it for around 10years, well two infact, but ones either run off or got stolen.

Anyway, moving house soon and want to know what I can do with it! Can they live in indoor tanks or will they be too small? I don't want to get rid of my pet! The new house only has a small backyard so I don't think its viable to put a pond in...

They are fine in indoor tanks, but it needs to be properly regulated, your best bet is to telephone an online poker site and see if they can help you get a good tank and setup.

They can live in an indoor tank but it would need to be pretty large and would need to be able to get onto dry land as well...

Ideally you should give it away or leave it where it is... if you cant give it a similar environment to live in

Well as my mum is moving in a few weeks, it'll be put in my aunties pond for now. I'll look at indoor tanks...

As a matter of intrest how big would a pond/tank need to be? The one we have at the moment is quite big, the yard of the new house isn't huge but I bet it could fit a small pond in... as it would only be the terrapin using it, all the fish seem to be been stolen by pesky cats

For every terrapin that makes it to a pet shop about 20 have died..........so why worry about one more
