I've decided to use jewelry solely for resists (apart from the lovely unique neck item i got). Having trawled the net i have come up with the following combination which gives a total of:

I'm going to be farming mobs in avalon for any nice unique items but how does this look so far? I'm going bump some resists with this crafted item:

I have nice cold, matter and heat reists buffs so don't need them particularly high.

Those rings you have listed do not have resists they are + to skills.

On Leladia's SC tool it shows Body as being 5 over cap, can you only have 26% max?

Don't use bracers you don't need..there're a lot better ones than ones with shield, which you dont need :/

Avernal Neclase is better than that. and if you plan on using a MP chest piece, make a whole set :-]

Majestic Mantle of Eternal isn't any good either :|

Cloak of renitency (i.e) is better. 15 con 6%body 6%slash

I am using a full set of MP, i just listed the main resist one.

The cloak on its own may be better but the stats don't fit as well and if you ignore the shield stat on the bracers they are very nice cos they give lots of body and crush resist which is what i need. I've changed a few bits anyway and final template will be this:

I’d dump the +enhance and just get a cheap buffing mace. Put the extra points in con.

I thought that was form the SI bracer quest that is non-tradeable?

Or can you get two of the same when you do the quest?

I like that idea, i've seen a friar with a mace on his belt before while using the staff so might do that. Do i actually have to have it in my hands to get stat increase or is just wearing it enough?

DF necky is better.

2 SI quests give better cloaks, and the cloak from Caer Ulfwych is better.

Ogre's Might gives a better belt.

Nice right ring, crap left ring.

You have to choose 2 different bracers fro that quest.


You should overcharge your MP gear to either 36 or 37 over 32. 34 or 35 is just a waste.


Also, try evening out the stats you are adding. Having +7 staff in 1 slot is a waste, having 1% slash resist in a slot is a waste. Having empty slots is a waste, having +power on anything is a waste, etc, etc.



IMO, delete and start again...

How much more chance is there of a blow up going from a 3 point overcharge to a 5?

There's virtually no chance whatsoever of blowing up 37/32 imbues, just use 99% gems.


Anyway, you're going at it all wrong. You need to find the best items for you (bracers with +4 shield are kinda crap for a friar) and then work the template to fit the items.

You say, 'not the best', well I don't think they could be very much worse....

Are you kidding ? max 10%?...heh... 26+buffs = better.

As there is no cap in magic resistances.

try to max everything you can.

to do this, get a decent pair of rings belt neclase cloak ->>
do a set.

as a friar you are able to do the Secret Order's quest for a 15hits 8%cold 8%spirit 8%body bracer aswell.

Hunting in the Dales last night we got a nice Friar jewel too. Can't remember the exact stats (+3 to 2 skill, and other stuff), but drops from the northern ghost family house (far west of the zone, near the river). Was fairly common, we got 4 in an hour or so.
