Id' liek to see how they pla to implement this to homes with more then one person.

If say, my roomie is downloading illegally and i'm not they have no way of proving who's doing it, YET, they can't cut MY net connection off because my roomie broke the law, as it would violate MY rights :D

The thing is, I think that if you pay for a connection then you are partially responsible for its use. I think the burden of proving it wasnt you is on your side rather than on the authorities side if they have enough evidence to show it was your connection.

We live together, he pays the bill, i pay him, so technically i'm not responsible and if he gets booted, i can get my own net to same address and the cycle continues :D

They don't give a fuck about YOUR rights Toht. This is the point I'm making.

Yeah, but THEY are not the ones enforcing the rules, the ISP is ;)

Someone made a good point a while ago with regards to the ISP taking control of what you are downloading.

If they start to monitor and remove people for downloading instead of merely providing a service then that makes they take responsibility to police. Which surely means a parent can sue them if they catch their children looking at porn? They can use the fact that the ISP werent doing enough to prevent the child looking at naughty stuff

If this comes in, the first thing I'm going to do is download copies of every game I own repeatedly... If they try to disconnect me, I'll annoy them as much as I possibly can taking the case to the police. It would of course mean having a clean computer but fuck them, if they're going to impose the assumption of guilty until proven innocent, they'll be having a law suit from my side... repeatedly.

That of course means having money to begin with so... well... maybe after I finish uni and get a job :)

edit: Note there is nothing in most ISP documents, or I'd assume all ISP documents that states you cannot download a file more then once.

If there was ever a time to vote against joining the EU or what is ultimately going to end up being a world union, this is it. If these bills are going to be passed without any democracy, it's only the start.
