Errmm, I don't know if they were the original authors of that song, but NOFX covered it. "Leave it Alone" is the title.

The band no longer exists, actually, but they quit less than a year ago. Their website, for example, is still up and has all the lyrics on it.

Fair enough. I don't like their older stuff either; way too dirty for me. Last album is supremely mellow/warm though and the penultimate album has a lot more harmonic bits in there than the older material. If all you've ever heard from them is screamy-thrashy stuff, try the tracks Alpha-hi, Revelation, House of Leaves and Amnesia. /me puts on best Fast Show jazz-club voice and says: Shmoooth.
