Basically, I'm wondering if they're actually worth my time doing. I'm currently doing training for Juniper Networks kit through work and I've got the option of getting certified up to JNCIS-SP/JNCIS-ENT level if I study for the exams. I've got a (very!) expired CCNA and I'm also thinking about doing the Certified Ethical Hacker cert as well.

The question is, should I bother? My work will pay for my Juniper exams, but I'll need to study on my own time. The CEH I'd have to pay for myself and the same if I wanted to recertify my CCNA.

What certifications have you done? How did they help your career? Did they help you pick up women (or men, I guess)?

I'd say go for the work funded ones but I wouldnt spend anything more. The CCNA alone is probably the best indicator that you are not a fuckwit (and if its an old one ie means you've been playing with the intertubes for years and so have experience).
