Teamspeak / Vent - headset/mic

Anyone out there have a good recommendation for a mic to use with Teamspeak/vent ?

I prefer to have the "speech" coming out of the pc main speakers (along with the game sounds) so don't want anything that blocks the ears.

I got a tablemic a while back, played with it a while, realised that tablemics need constant headbobbing/etc to speak into them effectively, took the mic out of the holster and jesustaped(ductape) it to my headset

seriously if u have other people vent + ur game sounds flooding through ur mike u wont have many friend :< jsut get a gamer head set

If your going to do that you need to stop worrying about anything other than finding a very directional microphone.

I've been on vent with plenty of people with game sounds coming from their speakers and they are normally asked to shut up after the first minute. Either all your speech gets completely lost in the blast of crap coming everytime you press push to talk or you end up just causing everyone else to listen to insane screaching as you feed back all over the place.

Logitech headsets for the win. Clean as a bell hearing, micraphone works fine too.

maybe something like this is a happy medium so.. used to use something similar the odd time when i was playin in the lan cafe, wasnt bad but if ur at home u should have nps hearing.

Spent all of £1 on mine and it works a treat. Altec Lansing headset, lasted a couple of years and not given me any troubles at all. Okay so you might not be able to hear music through it as it doesn't have a subwoofer attached to each ear but can't go wrong really for a pound

Go for Sennheiser if you're not bothered with spending quite some quid.

Get a proper headset for Ventrilo usage. There is nothing more annoying than listening to your own echo whilst trying to speak.

I would recommend these to anyone for really good sound quality, a good mic and solid construction. Lasted me over a year of regular use and they've taken quite a beating in that time!

I got mine which look like Killswitch's from Game. They cost about £5 and the mic is amazinG! I dont actually wear the headphones, just have them on my shelf away from the speakers (hate it when people have the mic in between them and a speaker getting all the background/echo)

So imo the Game £5 ones are great, you dont need to wear them as the mic can pick you up from a mile off

Logitec headsets, and generally logitec stuff is waaaaay overrated. Half the stuff breaks after a month, the rest is 'ok' but not better than much of the stuff you can get else.

I can wholeheatedly recommend sennheiser headsets.
