Sorry the video is a little juddery, my HL2 demo recording doesn't seem to like my PC. FF is a lot smoother and more fluid than this video makes it look. I just made it to give a rough idea of the type of gameplay. anyone who played tfc should be able to see the similarity.

Searched quite a bit but can't find it anywhere and haven't played TFC for over 5-6 years so have no idea about Steam or any of that.
Do I need to order HL2 or something else and can I DL or order TF2 from Steam(which is the loader?)?

I am not sure about this. But I think you buy it via Steam. So download the steam client, create a user, buy TF2, play.
For the few games I've gotten through Steam it has worked perfect.

Download Steam and create an account. Purchase the Orange box set via Steam.

Once you have payed for it, you get the option to download all the games from the box set. So download TF2 and go play.

You cannot buy TF2 on its own yet to play.

Everyone that is currently playing this game have a look in the half life 2 section of the forums for the FH server, Busy from about 6:30 onwards till about 3:00am

Fortress Forever >> TF2, TF2 doesnt even have grenades in it which was about 50% of the gameplay... Sadly neither of these games comes even cloes to the glory and pace of the original Team Fortress, FF is basicly TFC for Source and TF2 I wont even mention since it's not even comparable. But FF is still a lot of fun for sure, even if its not as good as QWTF.

Quite disappointed in TF2 is lacks the characeter depth that the previous fortress games had - no grenades, no specialist skills (bunny hopping and conc jumping). Now I've been following Fortress Forever for a long time but I dont think it will cut it with the mainstream, which is a great shame.

TF2 was designed with console gamers in mind.

I hate consoles apart from my Wii, I really like TF2 its got a good feel to it and it makes me laugh out loud alot.


Nades would make sentry guns pointless, I find all the classes quite balanced with regards to it being a team orientated game anway.

Have you played previous fortress games?

I have not played the original, I have however got the FF but I cannot compare it to the first one. Alot of my mates played tf as a clan back in the days and the majority of them are really loving the new one. They have all said however that is is alot different in play style to the original.

Played TF2 quite a bit now and must say I like it, missing a couple of things from the old TFC like grenades and Fake death(spy abillity) but really like the teleporters and the way they OP'ed Scouts ;d
Don't like the new medic change though, changed it from an offensive/support to support only, while a medic can be nice for those 7 secs of invuls taking down loads of defence your basically just standing there beaming your HW/Solly/Demo and dodging bullets when in TFC it was alot more fun to play Medic with the disease pack/heal pack and concs.

Do not understand the point system though as on most maps I get over 150 points and my highest points only shows as 38 on Engi.
Love to kill HW's with a scout now as it's so easy and it's just crazy to kill HW's with a scout running around them shooting your shotgun or whacking them with your baseball bat with them not being able to target you because of the running speed
