Well, I've got myself a tattoo, so I thought I'd show it off here.

Firstly, after the first session, which was two hours work. Didn't actually hurt, just a ,ild scratching, but I could hold a conversation all the way through.

Then after the second two hour session. This was with a thicker needle, so it hurt, especially the chest.

Obviously, I'm much more tanned than that and stuff in real life.;)

I am getting it coloured in a week on Friday, which will probably sting a bit too.

Yes, it is. They then took my baby away for a top secret government project.

Or maybe its from my appendix being removed in January. My memory is so hazy about the details.

IN the second pic I like the little guy in orange who seems to be trying to attack the dragon.

I think it would look good on Bruce Lee, or The Rock. On your pasty white arm however....

j/k ;)

I'm not keen on tatoos, I always think "what would my work colleagues think" but is certainly a lot better than the clichéd chinese/celtic symbol.

The thing about tattoo's is, what about when you're middle aged (and onwards), and your skin starts to sag. Are you left with a kind of black/multicoloured smudge?

I knew an older guy (early 50's) who was a mature student at uni who was in the army previously. He had legs, arms, chest, neck, knuckles all tatooed (he was a tattoo artist himself i think) but on that old wrinkly skin; he looked like a giant bluey/green scrotum.

Attractive to martians perhaps.

Whatever pokes your pie i guess.

Nice lookin tatoo Will, must take some balls to go and get something like that stuck on your arm. I'd be too scared about it turning out wrong or deciding half way through that I don't want it after all.

To me I find those large tattoo's a bit too much.

You'll get a skin infection if you keep using bubble gum tattoo's and super glue :p

Yeah...I had been thinking about it for about two years before I actually got round to getting it done. I got it that size for a few reasons. I wanted to, I didn't want to get a litle tattoo and end up with a piecemeal of tiny tattoos like a few of my mates, and I wanted a little bit of tattoo on show when I rolled up my sleeves.

Man that looks fucking cool, I want it. :D
How much was it?

I reckon you shouldn't bother colouring it. ;)

£160 so far, for four hours work.

It looks pretty dull in black. It's gonna look far better in colour.

I didn't know you were interned in Belsen Will.

On Topic however...as I think you know I'm a tattoo and piercing fan and am currently having my right arm sleeve done. First piece of work was reworking the SHITE piece I had done 7 years ago.

Mucho scabbiness at present but the change is very good. I'm only having a 3/4 length sleeve so I don't have to worry about rolling down my shirt sleeves at work.

Got a bit ahead of myself as apart from designing the left sleeve (designed a full length samurai/geisha/cenobite picture, pretty good if I say so myself ;)) I'm going through designs for a full back piece and another for my shins.

I personally like very bold black and white work (colourblind so maybe why I'm not so much into colour :p) that stands out. My right arm is mainly tribal and mayan stuff.

Keep the pics coming mate, when mine's finished I might stick some up on here.

For the people who say "but what about when you grow old" well when I'm pissing and shitting my pants and have forgotten how to walk and stuff I don't really think I'll give a fuck. Took me 15 years to finally get working on all this so its not as if I've rushed it ;).

I totally agree that tats shouldnt be rushed, far better to meticulously plan them. I personally HATE small "novelty" pieces, like you mate if youre gonna have it done then go for it.

How do tattoo's do when muscle size etc changes?

if you get a tattoo done on the arm, and then go pumping iron like a mad man for that body builder look, will the tattoo's look awful, or just slightly stretched?

Depends how much your arm increases in size really. Remember your Π formula and you should get the idea its a stupid amount of beef you have to add.
