I can't draw for shit. I'm a scientist, not an artist.

Think about the shape of a calf. The sort of shapes that work would be (use your imagination here) commas, flowing with the shape of the calf muscle and descending down towards the ankle, tapering away.

Polynesian/Maori designs are a lot more popular nowadays than Celtic and tribal stuff. Tribal stuff especially has dated quite badly.

Ah, but some date more badly than others. Tribal is up there with barbed wire. ;)

Barbed wire did, does and will look kinky ad eternum.

I already spoke to the artist, he will modify the design to make it more stretch along the calf. See if i like it that way or not. I was pretty convinced with the former design :(

Cba getting the tattoo over my shin though. Hurt enough over my elbow, wrist, spine and collar bone.


Good luck mate. And your tattooist will suit it to your specific needs if he has half a clue. Check his previous work and his portfolios if you've never been before. My best advice because theres alot of scratchers out there/
