I bought Tasker for my phone because I wanted to turn autosync off at night, but to be honest I don't have the slightest fucking idea what to do. Every google result I find makes me feel like an imbecile.

I just don't understand how it's supposed to work, or what I'm supposed to do.

Can someone just tell me what buttons I press to make my phone automatically stop checking for emails between 2330 and 0730?

If this is an android device I believe you can turn off all sync services by using the sync button on the standard power control widget. Just like turning wifi on and off.

Ok I think I figured out how to do it. I'm beginning to understand why old people could never set the timer on a VHS recorder.

Next job is to make it turn wifi off when I leave the house.

Cheers Meg, I did all it said so I'll check it out later on, when I leave the house.

Brilliant - that worked perfectly. Now why doesn't the app creator just include a button that does all that automagically?

No worries dude. Only reason I even knew what you were talking about is because it's popped up in the news feed on Lifehacker before now. I think you might find some other useful stuff there if you search it. Use the UK site though, the US one is horrible to navigate now :(
