T2 fix !?!?!?

After the last T2 patch *bolx* I've had random lockups after 10-20 mins. I run Win2k (SP2) so I thought I'd try this and it worked. Played for a solid hour

Right click your T2-Online shortcut, on the compatibility tab set it to Win98 compatibility layer. WhooHoo

Re-install

After every patch i have to re-install to get it to run. No exception this time. After installing the patch i kept having redjack or the screen would lock up. I then re-installed from the cd and downloaded the patches and scripts...works fine now, just like after every patch released
Only takes me about 2 hours every time

Yeh everyone is getting these crashes. In praccy today 4 of my tribe crashed at the same time. I crashed once, I think everyone crashed at least once.

Possible fix

Seems that there is a differnet fix for everyone but the one that has worked for me (after my re-install i got more problems) is the post that i saw somewhere about resetting your sound acceleration. Control panel>multimedia>audio tab>advanced...then set acceleration right down on both playback and recording. This seems to have done the trick for me

FUck thi Tribes 2 crashes for me every hour gaurenteed like fucking clockwork since the latest patch.

I am not lowering my sound accelaration for one fucking game when everything else runs fine.

Oh yeah I am on win 98.

The worst thing is tribes 2 was fine for me before this fucking patch, I have nearly given up on this game. I only play it once a week now and thats with my clan.

Dynamix really fucked up big time, drove too many people away with a unfinshed pile of shite being made gold.

I really wish they had just held it back, fixed all this stuff, and released nearer end of summer / xmas time.

Then again, sierra were prolly getting a bit annoyed, therefore instigating the push to release it......
