Hi

I'm after any thoughts people have on the following upgrade. I'm currently running a s754 3200+ with 1gig 3200 ram and a sapphire 9600xt 256mb. Am wanting to upgrade graphics really due to quake4, but in doing so I reckon I'm best switching to s939 and a pcie graphics card:

Asus A8N-SLi Premium NF4 S939 DDR400 PCI-E SATA Raid Gbit Lan 8Ch Audio £123.92
AMD Athlon 64 4000 32/64Bit CPU S939 "San Diego" Retail inc Heat Sink Fan & 3 Years Warranty £257.80
256MB XFX PCI-E *Extreme Edition* GF7800GT *450 Core 1.05Ghz Mem* (256bit) ViVo 2xDVI £269.08
600w Seasonic S12-600 SLi Ready Silent PSU 2xPCI-E 4xSATA 120mm Fan ATX1.3/2.01 £104.09
Akasa 2grammes AK450-2G Thermal Heat Sink Compound "Silver" £1.75

I'm planning on keeping my 1gig corsair twinned pair 2x512mb 3200's and my sata drive.

Am I going ott on this one? It's coming in at £768 incl, which is do-able .... but I do have a tendancy of being led solely by the 'if it's expensive, it must be good .... GET IT" philosophy ;/

Looks fine, fairly similar to the upgrade I just did today! Except I went for an x2 processor and 2 gigs of Ram.

You probably want this 7800 instead:

It's about £50 cheaper!

You will need to upgrade your ram soonish though, as games will need 2 gig from about UT 2007 onwards.

That power supply is very nice, since I installed that and silenced my raptor my computer is a lot quieter!
