8 gig of ram - nice :)

If it's a bit sluggish for me when it's installed I'll bump myself up to 4 gig, only cost £30 to get another 2 identical 6400 sticks now.

Yeah RAM is extremely cheap now. :)

As long as you are a Vista user. WinXP SP2 cant handle more than 3GB memory.
WinXP SP3 might have fixed that, dunno for sure.

It can handle more than 3GB just perfectly. The only thing to check is whether you have a 32bit or 64bit OS. On Vista I have 4GB of memory installed. But since it is 32bit, that is it only supports 4 294 967 295 unique memory adresses I only see about 3.2GB. That is because the memory of my graphics card is included as memory addresses by the OS.
Abit much tech babble. But it should definitely work.

But yeah, you won't be able to USE the extra 1GB ish of RAM since the OS won't be able to detect it (it sees the video card RAM too)

I think the extra 1 gig of ram is used within the system somehow, but you only see like 3 gigs.

Yeah, as I wrote in my above post the OS uses the higher memory addresses to address the video card. (if you have alot of video card memory for example).

I get it all VAT free :D

The monitor is cheap piece of crap!

It's from Ebuyer, one of the 'exta value' ones, but it'll do the job till i can afford a decent one.
