April, prolly about a 10 a month I expect?

I don't really like mmorpgs that much, as most of the earlier ones have been level treadmills imo. This looks like it could be amazing, though.

That's what I thought, but tbh a tenner a month is a bit fucking shit really. Don't get me wrong, it's not a lot of money, and it's affordable.. I just don't want to afford that. 30-50 quid a year sounds more about right tbh :/

Sick to death of Star Wars cash in's.

Also sick to death of so many MMORPG's coming out that are shit.

I wont even be touching it :)

MMORPG's are the work of the life-consuming devil. And I'm not that big on Star Wars, but I can see the attraction and that it has a houseload (maybe even two houseloads) of potential.

It used to be that lucasarts could do no wrong, and every game they produced was top notch :|

Having said that, they don't make the games any more do they :/

They went all over-protective of licenses, and then they churned substandard star wars game after substandard star wars game out and people lost faith. I just reinstalled Jedi Knight II the other day, it's nicer than i first thought. When Dark Forces came out, they were on top of the heap, this was after the first 2 monkey islands, and then dott and samnmax.

*nostalgic sigh*

Jedi Knight II saber-only multiplayer still rocks. :)

Nah, lightsabers online lose all fluidity, looks shit, feels shit. You end up running around chasing people, hoping to get an unblockable move in somehow.

DoTT was, ahem, THE DADDY. :)

tbh the dig was better than monkey 3&4.

Plus I don't like you rating system, it suggests some weren't that good. All of those games (bar monkey 3&4) were fantastic. I thought the dig was very cool tbh :/

Infact, I'd love to get it again, I had it ages ago, no idea where the cd has gone.

Well, yes they were all fantastic, that is merely a scale of relative fantasticalness, or something. :)

I'm sure there's one I've/we've forgotten, but I can't for the life of me think what it is. :(

How the fuck did I forget about Indy? :\

Yer, I never finished The Infernal Machine either, but I don't think that really counts if we're just talking about point'n'clickers. :)

And Grim Fandango, which I never actually finished, I seem to remember the 2nd CD fucking up every time I tried to play past the halfway mark, and me never being bothered to do anything about it. :(

I ran through grim fandango several times, loved it. It was just so stylish. Glottis was the win also.

Yeah, it was great, although the controls took some time to get used to and the clipping made me cry on more than one occasion.

But I still don't think DoTT has been bettered to this day. There was a game called Stupid Invaders a couple of years ago, along the same sort of comedy lines, but it didn't come close.

Bring back old skool point n clicks. :(

I saw that on cybernet.. looked alright actually :)

Oh and the clipping thing was a slight incompatibility with your graphics card, happened when I played on my laptop. If you put it in software mode, it looks about the same and loses the clipping :)

Any of you ever play Snatcher, btw?

(not lucasarts, but adventury)

Nope, never heard of it, any good? (I presume it is, otherwise you wouldn't have brought it up :) )

And nath, Stupid Invaders came on 4 cds, a full install was about 2.8gb, it was very much an arty farty game. Nice cutscenes and animation though. I think the videos dir was about 1.3gb alone, then add sound and sprites on top of that, and there isn't much of a game left. It was good while it lasted though.

hmm, Snatcher was a pc/mega cd/msx game by Hideo kojima (of metal gear solid fame) which was extremely good, had voice acting years before it was commonplace, and a very good storyline and script. Lots of ref's to other Konami games, too. Worth playing if you ever find it.

I need an excuse to dust off my old Mega CD. No wait - I don't at all. It can stay where it is. :>

Sounds like a good'un though. I have a set of 10 cds at home comprising a "shitload" of old games and roms that I aquired from my old housemate (he was something of a collector) so, here's hoping it might be on that. Probably not the talkie if it's on there at all, but it'll give me insight. :)

Grr, just tried DOTT (found the cd!) it works fine, no sound though. ARGH :|

nath: google for "ScummVM"
