SuSE 8.2

I used SuSE 8.0 a while back and I'm looking to reinstall it (to go with my previous Linux thread). However, it makes sense to get the latest version.

I'm wanting to get the downloaded version but the SuSE FTP only has 8.1 for download. Do SuSE have a delayed release policy on the downloadable version?

Or should I look elsewhere (bearing in mind how much of a Linux newbie I am)

FreeBSD:eek:

Though I have heard good things about Suse's ease of installation.

I think its because they release it as a packaged version to buy first and for the ppl signed up with em ... give it a few weeks

Shovel a number of the publishers have changed the way in which you download distros and which ones you can actually download, this mainly due to the fact no business can run for free forever thus they've had to increase revenue.

Indeed I do, for now at least.

I did have a poke around on the BSD website the other day and the documentation is as good as you say. I just want to be able to have everything there - e.g. without messing with config and compilation to start with. When I've got the hang of not screwing the thing up, then I'm all up for doing a personalised set up. :)
