So it happened - the first relic movement on Prydwen since NF arrived. The Scabbard of Excalibur is now in Hibernia's relic temple.

Ever since NF arrived on the US servers we were told horror stories about Albion zerging all 6 relics home and keeping them unchallenged. We're even seeing it happen on Excalibur.

What makes Prydwen different then? What makes Prydwen/Hibernia, an officially underpopulated realm, different?

Let me hear your answers (and your whine).

Personally I think the answer is: Aran Thule.

i aint gonna whine, wont achieve anything, gratz i guess, outnumbered albs from start to finish, so much for being an underpopulated realm. The time helped too i'm sure, had 58 albs online total as relic was stolen, sucked, was a bit gutted but what few of us there were left defended best we could.

Hmm, wonder what the time was when Eras fell to the hibs...

NF RR's takes quite a while especially when you got no more than 100 ppl on the raid at any one point, even 8pm uk time.

There was only 48 left in the Hib BG at the end, but many people came and went thoughout the 10 hours the raid was going on.
Congratulations to the hibs, a well coordinated effort.

And i counted to 13 of us albs in the end. Over the course of the day, the most common sentence in our battlegroups was: "Underpopulated my ass"

However, i don't think it's fair to call it alarm raid.. as someone said, it was started during prime time and it just took that long (not thanks to us albs putting up a good fight.. it went downhill after our defense leader vanished after the meat mincer inside Surs) but more due to the new keeps being stronger than old keeps and taking longer to take.

Albion seems to lack good leaders. When one needs to go afk or needs a break, we have nobody to step up and assume command. We're like a flock of lost sheep at the moment. :( Even though we had smaller numbers, we also have a lot of other things to improve if we want to stop this from happening again. It's easy to blame shrooms, and sure they cause frustration, but it's not the whole picture.

Anyway, grats hibs! I'm going to sleep now and forget about daoc for a while.

Think you hit the nail on the head there Levin.

I think the realm reason Hib is doing so well on Prydwen compared to the other servers is due to the amount of respected 'leaders' we have.

You can guarantee that if something happens (RR defence, keep defence etc) at least 1 of the recognised Hib leaders will either get things rolling or will be promoted to /bg leader within 5 minutes of joining the /bg, and there's enough experience both for them leading and others following.

Don't really know the situation on Mid or Alb, but you guys seemed quite disorganised tonight, whereas we had 3-4 people running small forces off doing things with everyone confident on what was being asked to do. Aran was able to say "Your groups go and take this tower" or "Go and clear the force attacking" and we were able to do it with little or no fuss.

And tbh, yes we are underpopulated, I don't think the peak population has gone over 300 in months now, but there's a high percentage of people willing and able to turn out to events like this, basically cause they know who is running it and what to expect.

Prydwens hibbies arent one to lay down and die, id like to be able to to assume with the leadership we had tonight that we will be the relic whoring population.

And to those flaming for us working together...

I seem to remeber last week when albs added onto our mid RR and in no way helped us get the relics, i guess you could say you were both helping each other out then :p

Funny you should say that when there was a guard spam of 118 hibs at Surs and 53 (other) hibs at a tower a bit off Surs
But anyway grats I guess and keep living in the illusion Hib / Pry is still the underpopulated realm as when then 118 hib guard spam began at surs / eras a /who all was just over 200 in alb (and that's level 1 to 50) so don't be annoyed if Pry / Hib is losing it's Underpopulated bonus in 1.71.

I sneaked inside the MG after we finaly conqured Berkstead, and there I found Firepower who I killed with 2x DDs then I proceeded to charge a random mincer with andrilyn chain healing him. Some how I managed to kill them both and while I rested I got a briton guardian paladin on me which I took down flawless.

Havn't had that fun in ages. After I ran around for awhile in there I found a necro trainer but I didn't realise it was a trainer until I took out the blue pet and started nuking the redcon(!?) named necro and before I had a chance to kill him the other merchants/trainers charged me.

I think I kited all of em for about 20 mins. And finaly a redcon mincer trainer insta stunned me and dded me for 40 damage. And right after a instrument and a poison merchant added and killed me. This was halfway back to Berk. =/

Hope someone understands my story. Long live RRs.

Even with that, we had ~60-80 albs defending against 120 enemies. Not to mention that even after most of midgard went away, hibs still kept decent numbers (more than we had on /who all most times, and double /who 50) until 6 am.

Tried to organize a defense as best we could, but outnumbered as we were...not much we can do other than /release. We had 13 people defending the milegate the second time around, against 50-60ish of you guys; lots were sub-50 as well.

Anyway, grats to your.....err...endurance and persistence in getting the relics :m00:

Well I think the reason its so easy to hit albs atm is that 100 mids and 100 hibs can pretty easily destroy the fotm fg's(and those who still think 1fg vs 1fg is a way to play still)

Seen it since the beginning of NF. Albs have no intention to do anything together it seems. Seen some "respect" guilds run off from a keeptake just as doors falling and then albs losing the fight.

Who to blame? No one ofcourse. Hibs and mids did a great job in OF whining, whining and whining about albs moving with more than 8 and it seems now they can easily farm with the zerg. (I was always in favour of more people=more fun) :)

But well done hibbies for taking the relic. :) With the show albs putting I say walk right in to take the rest when you guys slept enough.
