Who would win in a 1 vs 1 combat ( duel )?

I dont include friars or wardens

only shaman,healer,druid,bard and cleric.

Kinda impossible to answer that straightaway, cuz it all depends on the specs ofc. 1 on 1 an aug specced healer is close to unbeatable with their heavy dmg shield / dmg add.

aug healer vs battle drood - i think battle drood will have the edge
bards not too shabby at fighting tho, shamans, healers & clerics always put up a good fight in df. clerics just take a long time to kill because they have instas... with bard that is. not lost on reg drood battle yet though :)

that said, sorcs count as support as well, i suppose. sorc would do very well against a shammy, most likely win too. Not to mention a minstrel. played well, few classes can take one out solo, afaik

shaman > healer
shaman > druid
shaman > bard
shaman > cleric

imo
just dont let anyone touch them

A cave shammie would wtfpwn any support class.

And most other classes if they get room to kite.

I agree shammy could beat any other support classes except for bard i think, you cant kite a bard as they have speed and end regen plus insta to interupt any cast you try

Agree, though a bard would prolly just kill himself by boredom if the shammy wears a tg hauberk :p

Its not like a bard is able to do a whole lot of damage :)

Bards are pretty good duelists if played well, especially with a few realm ranks behind them. It's a combination of DD's, Melee damage the chance to insta mez target half way though fight and heal themselves and if you take RA's into account AM is a nice boost to HP again also.

Not sure what is the best class but combat druid (or Nature Druid if group spec'ed), Aug Healer, Bard, Cave Shammie are all OK.

Depends on the situation. Without RAs and if fight began in melee range, shaman wouldnt be so good.

If we count pure healer classes only then: aug healer >= battle druid > smiter

Druid with 36ish in nature

2 Insta's, insta root for kite, damage add, damage shield, DoT, pet(DoT). Without RA's they are pretty mean, with RA's they can MoC heal themselfs, and Re DoT etc

Aug healer
Same as above just without any DoT's but has nice self buffs.

Shammie
Don't know why people think these are gunna win...the only spell they are going to cast is Insta Diasease (Any half good player is going to interupt the DoTs with Bard DD, Healer ASD, Druid insta root, Clerics stun(faster cast time) Icor would be nice through

Bard
With High weapon/end regen they could be quite solid fighters...but nah since my sorc can out melee them

A shammy would move out of stun range of cleric, then bolt follow bolt in and cast dots, still think bards are a no no for it though

Shaman only wins because you cant catch him without speed and people will get bored chasing him and will just give up and sit.

Ultimate kite-class I suppose.

Actually..I'd bet on the bard. It's the only one among these who can spec weapons... and they have insta shout, and insta mez. So they can DD/lulla-interrupt/melee, and if low on health just mez and heal himself..and can also regenerate his own endurance...

40reg 36nat druid would so wtf pwn ya(my spec)
lvl 37pet and dont say ya dont fear it i see ya all running around screaming when ya got him on ur ass
then we got a dot that ticks for about 80(with resist caped)
then we got 2insta root
dmg shield (4dps)
and uber dmg add(10pds)
2insta heals
and dont forget at higher rr we got 2purges to

You need to duel a battlebard to settle things then =o)

Slar beats, Deuce don't... remember it's a matter of spec also :) A normally specced bard won't win over say, a nature druid. There's not that many battlebards around, because it's not that groupfriendly spec. I prefer groups before solo :)
