I really dont give a hoot where irvr is as long as the roleplayers can stop themselves from going Arthur mode
king.arthur.gif
and roleplaying all keeps/towers back.
This server needs irvr in able to have an ounce of active rvr. :p

and you have expert opinion ofc....:m00:

As soon as i can ill take freaking irvr out of albion

so let me ask a question to those who despise irvr, where do you go to rvr when all keeps are neutral and what do you usually kill?

my money is on: close to a bridge, and mainly soloers

Well I stand in towers when I play my scout or hunter, run around keeps/bridges when on casters. I'm not playing in a set grp so I do what I can to have fun.

most people will roam Hadrians/Pennines or Emain. Strictly groups should really head Agramon. Sadly they don't maybe the idea of adding and just charging in anywhere is what a lot of groups want now because that all iRvR promotes. Sorry but that is a fact. :(

Irvr promote's zerging/adding and high rr groups farming the zerg. It's just that lazy bridge/Irvr mentality that keeps people locked down between bridges, instead of roaming around and/or taking towers and keeps.

I am with Tuth on this more action is not necessarily good action. Just the usualy lazy gaming where people can add til their hearts are happy. iRvR simply erodes anything that is good in the FG game people zerg surf and people add. Very few encounters are decent clean fights - try counting the clean fights some evening? Try working out if it is predictible or not.

When we were in Agramon at the start of the cluster we had excellent action good quality fights and very little adds. Sadly the majority seem to not have been able to hack that and have decided that life around the zerg is easier?

What gets to me the most is the wasted numbers of ppl randomly running around in mass zergs hunting for the odd chance to get a few rps. Theres so many more aspects to this game in RvR than just running back and forth between the portal keeps. I applaud the efforts of CM and the other guild that bands together and takes towers and keeps, even if its early or late or undefended. Thats what they are there for...to be taken and held in the name of your realm and claimed as a big FU to the enemies with your guilds emblem proudly waving above the ramparts. And damn fine work getting the 1000 towers title Muylaetrix, thats something pretty impressive.

With the numbers of mids albs and hibs roaming around aimlessly in HW atm it seems that people have forgotten the underlying premise of the game. To dominate the other realms by working together. The albs did it a few weeks back and look at the response. Mids and Hibs started working together as a realm and the result was some really great evenings of pitched battles and fantastic rps. Every single class is needed when there is either a keep/relic take or defense, seers, tanks, casters, stealthers, and even the lowly underpowered warlocks, everyone has a role to play. Hell, I even get the chance to use my lgm fletching to make dims.

People have become to focussed on getting their rp count up by just killing enemies in the open field and running around aimlessly at high speed to find the perfect fg v fg fight, or the ultimate 1v1. Next time you see a huge zerg of your realm mates, start a /bg and try to use those numbers to take a tower or keep and then watch the rps roll in when the enemies come to defend or take it back. If no one shows, then by all means....keep going till a relic gate is open, that will definately get their attention.

Gustav,

I agree with a lot of what your saying but you cannot sustain the degree of co-ordination and effort it takes to sustain BG RvR - no-one can. Thats why these other forms of playing have evolved. I would not like to see only huge BG's running around either. I like the variation like many others. Its what makes this a great game - the fact that we can engage in all these styles of play.

Rgiht now though FG RvR is a very starved puppy and I want to get back to that before it dies totally - I hope others want to do that too. Zerg smurfing and all that stuff is not helping our FG's its killing them. It is seriously time to try and get back to Agramon at least to get back to the vlaues that make that style of play good.
