The only thing you can draw from the poll is that the tiny percentage of playerbase who participated (all from the same forum) generally liked the game when it came out, a few weeks later those same players liked it less.

It really tells anyone thinking about trying the game very little and is essentially pretty worthless.

God, don't you just die a little inside when you try that hard to make yourslef look like an idiot? It is statitics, thats how all statistics and surveys are done.

And it clearly shows that on large people are happy with the the game, but they are dissapointed and annoyed by x things. You can clearly draw a conclusion from it, and if the key points that drew you to the game are amongts the things that people deem as broken then obivously it might be taking a chance buying the game, since you will likely be dissapointed.

Quite funny that you asume I'm defending AoC, I'm not. I'm just tired of stupidity on this forum and the really cluelessness from alot of people here.

You guys whine about it beeing hard to level when it is super easy.

You guys whine about grinding beeing slow when it is so fast with the right grp.

You guys whine about PoMs when they are clearly a gimped class that lacks alot for beeing a main CC class.

i got a lvl70 char, did 90% of all doable q, farmed gold and some stuff for g city and stopped playing after 1 month, cause i was bored from the game and aoc fanboys driving ppl away ( moderators are partly responsible) :

My sincere conclusion of people who have different opinion atm is
1) Have no clue and blatantly missed huge parts of the game and mechanics that to other players are obvious.
2) Suck at gaming and therfore need to whine to make themselves feel better.
3) Fail irl and whine and troll about anything and everything.
4) Have to high expectations.

sign yourself up for that, you lack the perspective and the empathy to understand why people, "only" able to put down 3~ hours per day, are complaining.

personally I gotta shut down AoC from time to time now that I level my second character to 80, this in order to gain further motivation... leveling in AoC is easy yes, but it's repetitive, which makes it hard to withstand for longer periods of time, which itself is required for you to proceed leveling.

It's not hard as in challenging or difficult, but as in tedious, repetitive and easy to lose motivation. I think many people find it "hard" to level because some of the level ranges lacks content, like quests or designed zones. It's also so many levels that you don't really look forward to the next level, it's just another stop on the road, usually gaining a level is something you look forward to.

Personally I have no problems with grinding, never exped in a group so can't comment on that.

The complete and utter fucking fanbois make no counter argument at all except to say 'AOC is the best MMORPG ever released'

And these are the same people who were on the Tabula Rasa/LOTR posts when they came out.

If you want to try AOC go ahead it is a very good game up until lvl 20 then all of a sudden the Tortage experience drops and you meet the typical MMORPG only with less ways to see who is online and form a group.

The quest system IE follow the yellow arrow to the quest rinse repeat is a very boring system imo and leaves nothing to think about.

If you feel that I lack empathy and understanding for clueless people making retarded remarks about things they have little to none experience with then you are spot on. I don't think it is a very fair statement to say that a PoM is OP'd like Aada does in half his posts when he really have zero clue. And I'm not gonna explain to him why since it is well obvious to anyone who actually played the game somewhat.

I don't think it is a fair statement to whine about it beeing hard to level either through quests or grinding, it is 10x simpler then daoc.

I don't think it is a fair statement to whine about demonos and necros comming with ludicrous and laughable/made up examples of how much they suck when infact both classes roxthe box. Again I do not have to go through the exact details here since it is obvious when you play the game. The necro have the bets aoe atm and the demonos nuke dmg is very very nice and they have sweet cc.


Quite amazing how people like Partyanimal just can't wait to try and turn my post into some kind of fanboi post. I'm far from it. I don't defend the flaws, I just point out that 98% of the stuff written in the other thread is so uninformed and silly it is not suited to make any kind of decision on.

You for example havn't made one valid point in 2 weeks. Go back to WoW the game is obviously too hard for you.

If you asked me I would say Aoc isn't a good game its not compleated, it have alot of flaws (played it to 23) can't really say that much but you get crashes. Ok when I did level grinding mobs and doing quests I found it really fun but then again I hate Wow questing so I found that the quests you do in aoc with arrows to point you around to the next item to pickup quite ok sence I find it tedious to run around trying to figure out where programmers have putten some random crap and tryed to hide it in the questlog. Anyhow The Herald of Xoti that i've played have nice damage you can't heal but you get to do fun combos and its just fun to play. I would compare playing Diablo2 pve to playing Aoc, but then again if you loved to grind quests in wow then you probably dont like Aoc's quest system I suppose.

Oh and I played on a pvp server (with a friends account) and I had quite fun running around exping and killing (got killed afew times too).

Thing is what you need to graps is that PoM had 1, one, uno, one single totally out of control feature, and it was critical stackings with repulse.

You casted a heal, got +90ish damage ( this is bugged aswell doubt it even helps your damage, but anyway), then you cast a Clarity of Mind, wich adds holy damage to next casted spell by an unofficial %age. Then you did your repulse wich normally hits for anything between 600-2k dmg (2.5s cast and obvious animation). Now you have this bugged abil that adds damage to your spell, alot of damage, so you could in theory hit people for 4-7k dmg depending on your spec.[This is no longer in the game]

This was corrected. Everything else is the same with PoM, as in it is just as bugged and not working as it was pre this little nerf or correction. And I believe and many others who played ~100 hours with the class that it is quite gimped and have more or less none existing CC to a class that have useless dps in endgame pvp and raidings. This will obviously be tweaked in comming weeks and months.

The TOS is not going to get nerfed b/c they do not do UBER damage consitently, they can stack their damage if they do 4 or might been 5 abils, to build up base spell damage, crit % chance, thats how they can nuke a person for 2k damage ONCE, one time.

TOS have OK CC for not beeing a CC class. The PoM has useless CC for beeing a CC class.

- Point beeing it is other classes thats still lacks in their areas, the TOS is actually turning out quite well, other classes are still abit behind, it is not OP'd just b/c it is one of few classes that works as intended. We saw this in DAoC, WoW aswell. ( One example is the hunter, in both games. )

A level 80 guardian have over 8k hp in trash items. 2k damage on him from a class that is meant to be a support class with high dps is only 20-25% wich is almost instantly negated when the guardian changes to def stance and pops a health pot/gets heals.


- Now the necros who got some love a few weeks ago became the best AOEr in the game, you could litterally as lvl 80 walk up to a group grinding fire ONE single spell and instant kill EVERYONE. That was the zomg Corpse Explosion. It was just a matter of time before that was going to be nerfed it did so much damage that a Necro a tos and a PoM could kill 50-60 lvl 82 mobs in 5 seconds using AoE stun, CoM+repulse, storms and then one single CE. The CoM + Repulse and storms was not doing the damage, just made sure you got 1-2 kills so you could stack with 1-2 CEs and kill the whole blob of mobs.

The problem is m8 is that they haven't actually buffed anything on a Necro apart from giving us a couple of new spells that don't actually do a lot.

Our single target nukes are still worse then a TOS/POM.

I have been through both FEAT trees putting feats into my nukes and the damage is still laughable.

I had 8 pet points before the patch so all the patch has done for me is decrease my damage to my AOE spells but not adjusting to my single target nukes.

Really pathetic when you get out dps'd by a healer class.

Just today i went to test out my AOE damage (not corpse explosion) against mobs 3-4 lvls lower then me and the damage is just pathetic mate it really is.

Roll a necro and see for yourself just how bad they really are atm.

Add to the fact the pets don't taunt at all as SOON as i decloak from stealth the NPCS automatically come for me = certain death.
