Sudden porno spam problem

All,

I've never had spam in my life to my pipex mail account, and then out of nowhere i'm getting about 30 emails a day from random email accounts with random subjects, all porn related, with a link to a suspect website. Some of the content is bordering on the very illegal.

For example:

hiddden !asssfu_cked little babess!
Almoost illlegal poorn*teen actiions coughtt on
spyy camerras while ass_f*uccking and cu*m_drinkingg
in their roomms!

Since there is no pattern for subjects, or senders, or content (looks like it's been written to prevent a spam filter picking up keywords), how the fuck can I stop this?

I suspect a vindictive girl, or even my ex, has masterminded this.

Any suggestions?

i've had the same sort of emails for ages, thunderbird just filters 'em out for me.

i got them for about a week, 3 or 4 a day, they stopped as quickly as they started, put it down to some phisher somewhere.

I've been getting these also, to an email account that I don't publish anywhere and has never received any kind of spam (blueyonder).

It's very annoying, I get the same, Thunderbird doesn't do a good a job filtering as it used too, get about 5 out of 20 that get through to my inbox.

Just check that you haven't binned that email that should be coming from that PM I sent you Its still showing as unconfirmed.

BTW it won't be them, I've had nowt.

I've been getting the same lately too. Bit annoying as my kids use the same email account domain, so they get to see the messages too.

If anyone knows of an easy way of preventing these, let me know (and no, I don't want a different mail client!)

I reckon some spammers have a new algorithm to fool the spam filters; I've been getting stuff sneak past my filters for the first time in ages over the last week. I used to get the odd one or two a week, its been 10-15 a day for the last week or so on my Yahoo! account, and worryingly a couple on my own domain account (which I never use for anything but personal mail).

Luckily they get noticed as being spam, but the odd couple actually slip through the net. Annoying indeedy

Its unsurprising it happened, most people are completely unaware of virus protection and firewalls.
