As the world authority on ketchup I feel obliged to respond to this topic on my favorite subject.

Strictly speaking, you need to keep it in the fridge, for health reasons. Don't and you are risking it going off, and giving yourself a dicky tummy. On the other hand it doesn't taste quite as nice cold.

Each bottle only lasts about two days in my house anyway - if you're in the same boat you can keep it where you like, it ain't gonna go bad that quickly!

Here's an odd one: Who thinks ketchup is much nicer out of the glass bottles, when it comes out all think and texture-y, rather than the (still lovely) but somewhat softer, runnier stuff you get in the squeezy bottles? (Heinz of course, it's the only one that counts).

I prefer the squeezy purely on the convenience factor.

Fridge for most things. Ketchup (though I only keep it in for when my girlfriend visits), eggs (which are just for me) and Sweet Chilli Sauce - which has to be the single greatest cheese toastie accompanyment in history.

It's a horrible thing to admint, but I think one of the reasons me and my girlfriend split up was because of our different philosophies on where the Eggs and Ketchup should be kept.

She kept putting the eggs in the cupboard and the ketchup in the fridge. I mean, how was I supposed to live with that ;)

Worse Crimes

When i were a lad, ketchup never went near a fridge and I see no reason to change that. It's only recent namby developments that have seen people put it in the fridge. It shouldn't last long enough to need refrigeration; and don't take any 'I want to appear posh so I'm going to have a go at you for eating ketchup' shit.

If there's one thing that angers me more it's coca cola in the cupboard.

When you go round to someones house and they're like middle aged tea drinkers, and you ask for coke and they get an old flat two litre bottle of coke from the cupboard....

....And then it's not even real coca cola. These people must die.

Ketchup in cupboard deffo, although I don't keep any in these days.

Eggs in fridge. All drinks in fridge (the other fridge).

I may have to split up with our lass too cos she insists on putting unopened tins of sardines and salmon (ugh, tinned salmon) in the fridge. I mean, why ? They're tinned FFS !!11

But she won't put tinned tuna in the fridge cos that would be stupid.

Oh that makes perfect sense fridge-whore !!!

*resent*

Ketchup in the fridge. Never kept it in the cupboard, so why should i start?

Mayonnaise in the fridge. I think it says you need to keep it in there after it's opened. I use it to deep-condition my hair :)

Fizzy drinks in the fridge when opened, but keep extra bottles in cupboard, for space.

Ketchup -- Out and ready to use ! - failing that in cupboard
Mayo - Fridge
Salad Cream - Fridge
Any drinks - Fridge

And of course coke or diet coke ;) I actually drink diet as I genuinely prefer the taste, now I find full coke too sickly. Always feels embarassing act - being a lardy and buying diet coke -- you feel they are looking at you thinking "its gonna take more than that mate !" When its the flavour issue that decides it for me.

But why did you ever try drinking diet coke in the first place, eh? Answer me that, lardy :D
