Sudden Fps Drops

Ive randomly started getting drops to 10 fps ingame , ive not changed any PC settings and it happens on all clients - maybe 10% of the time. The fps drops also seem to happen in all places , not just where zergs are etc

My pc runs normally , it's just DAOC that is showing this problem

... ideas ?

(re)install the latest drivers
check up for overheating

check your background apps etc. kill msn, skype, bittorrent and everything else non-essential when u play. also run av/anti-spyware scans. could try alt tabbing and changing the process priority for game.dll to above-normal in task manager too. set agp aperture to 64 or 128mb. defrag hard disk at least once every 2 weeks. make sure swapfile is contiguous. kill disk indexing service by right clicking properties of the drive.

All proccesses are taking up normal memory , and I dont run scanning shit in background. The drops last about 30 seconds to a minute, and i noticed a correlation last night - sometimes they started whenever i went near a bridge at bled. Im pretty sure its nothing to do with my PC , as nothing has changed.. im gonna try sort out at window update stuff and then if nothing improved reinstall drivers

updated drivers , reinstalled ... and it STILL happens

Launch game, tab out, hit ctrl-alt-del and give pic of running processes.

Almost 99% sure its something in the background.

Which client are you useing , ? I get the same problem with the EU version of Darkness rising even with the option turned down even with 1 client, but I can run 2x EU catacombs with no framrate loss,

stupid thing is US Darkness rising is Fine I blame is crappy french codeing

Actually , my gfx card fan had stopped... causing the card to overheat every 10 mins or so. Therefore my anti-overheat thing would kick in basically shutting the card down until it was cool again- consequently giving rubbish fps in daoc
