When possessing an over active imagination, and a flight or fight mechanism that is so tightly wired that you jump out of your skin every time the cat comes in the cat flap, let alone when Kenny waits outside the bathroom door in the middle of the night in the dark, somehow allow yourself to get talked into going along to an over night paranormal investigation in the company of a journalist, in a building allegedly haunted by children.

The dates have come through, and it looks like I'm going along.

If I wee with fright, I will never live it down.

Why would you be scared? There's nothing in that house except draughts, creaks, special effects and poor lighting.

Two options:

1. Foster in yourself an Iron hard assertion that the supernatural doesnt exist and that anything you cant explain is merely due to lack of knowledge.

This option could be tough if your naturally imaginative (which is something of an occupational requirement for you :p ).

Perhaps watching really bad TV like a Neighbours marathon or a Jeremy Beadle DVD will blunt your imagination somewhat - not to mention your IQ, will to live etc...

Or

2. Accept it all as real and arm yourself with every protective charm/amulet/incantation you can get hold of in the time remaining.

A large hankie could provide a handy base for a small protective circle/pentagram combo...

Salts always good v zombies - plus take a load of different religious symbols since they cant all be right :p

You wouldnt want to be holding off a vampire armed only with a crucifix for him to laugh scornfully and say 'actually the Hindus were right'...

Just remember, anything you hear/feel/see that's vaguely paranormalesque is probably just low frequency sounds. I've no idea where I read it but some scientist discovered that sounds at a certain frequency can make you feel very scared and even vibrate your retina (or some such) in such a way that you see weird ghosty effects.

The paranormal, all a load of bollocks!

Or reeaaallly gullible.

I am all of the above. My brother once got me trying to cure my hiccups by putting one finger in my ear and saying "leprechaun" repeatedly :(

You forgot about the hopping on one foot part. That was vitally important for the cure to be effective.

No :(

And then a nude man turned up, and wore a saucepan.

It was a strange night.

It was on Myth Busters. They actually went to a house that was supposed to be haunted but was going out of business. These scientists created a room where a frequency was being played into it to make everyone get a cold shiver when they entered. It can also have the effect of making your skin crawl.
