Strategies for Necros in RvR

Whilst I'm sure this thread will prompt lots of responses suchs 'try another class!' I would really be interested in some contructive adivce and ideas on strategies and techniques to make use of Necro's in RvR.

Does anyone who plays a Necro regularly in RvR have any advice to offer?

Vorkanz and Foolio are 2 active Necro's I see in emain a lot.

Maybe give them a /send

depends if you solo or get a grp. Solo its run around, avoid the fg's and add on everything .. in a group its debuff for tanks, power to clerics/casters, snare, nuke rar rar rar.

Whatever you do, do it buffed or roll another class. Unbuffed necro casts too slow to be of any use at all and falls down far too easy. FP + Baseline lifetap are your friends btw, can drop any caster that doesnt kite, stun or moc (despite what ppl say).

Yes you're right, play another class cause necro pet really fucks up alot.

But some tips are:
1) Practise how to pull off quickcast while stunned/mezzed alot (I'm not beeing sarcastic)
2) practise 'double nuking' (also while quickcasting) which means castable lifedrain or manadrain and instalifedrain at the same time. This does actually work, somewhat like bonedancers do except it requires perfect timing for the pet to quee the commands correctly, once you get this you'll suddenly gonna be alot better necro.
3) If you play on pvp, stay the hell away from anything such as poles, walls, doors and things that people may use against you ie. making you out of view so that you can't use your spells on them, so they can just take down your pet in melee with no worries.
4) Use af debuff when you can, it helps alot..
5) use pbae in deathservant (any level spell) to uncover stealthers now and then, helps lots.
6) the insta con debuff tends to interupt casters


I can't really think of anything else at the moment, but all I can say is.. necro is damn good if everything goes as planned, but its a class where things usually go VERY wrong (due to the fact that the pet fucks up the commands way too easily).

As for point 3, if anyone doesn't know/wants to know, it's the ultimate necro-killer trick.

Take darkness falls as an example, there are lots of those "poles", attack a necro and pet will go for you, then put yourself behind the pole so that the pole is always between you and the necro shade, he will get "target not in view" and if he tries to move around, you move around also. This way the pet will just stand there like a mook and try to melee you down, for most classes this should be painless.

Another thing, if the necro is daft, mezzing his pet while he's running somewhere, like down in darkness falls, through milegates or something and doesnt notice, he can continue running and lose pet and then well.. you can staff him to death.. done it loads on camlann with minstrel

Yeah, cause the difference between a buffed and an unbuffed necro pet is about 80% dmg. (Hitting unbuffed necro pet for ~250 and buffed for 45.)
