strange happenings ...

[Regicide]

Today I was hunting in DF when some level 13 got killed by a level 49. Later on some higher levels got killed too. Looked up the person on this other pc, level 49 minstrel, RR3, good fight for me.
Tried to find the minstrel, but the minstrel was of course stealthed. Went back to my sapphire seal pharming.
Got a tell saying 'hurry, she is here now and mezzed' so I went there (opportunistic). The minstrel was at 10% health, nuked, got resisted, nuked again, did some damage, the minstrel ran away and stealthed. At this point the minstrel had obviously no lag whatsoever.
I sat around, hoping for the minstrel to get visible within my view, and after a minute she was there stood up and moved away, causing the first attempt to hit me to miss.. Second hit got absorbed by my bladeturn, and I was now out of range. I thought. I could see the minstrel running ahead of me. I started a bolt. When it was just about to go off, I got the "Your target is not visible" message, and the bolt missed. And then the minstrel appeared right behind me.
Can someone explain to me what happened? Was this a version of the famous "teh trick" ?

Maybe its just me, but sometimes people seem to lag on purpose

I thought this was a myth myself until I encountered a few people while playing my SB over the past few days...

Strange goings on like being hit styled continuously while my target is 'out of view' while standing right infront of me etc

Something dodgy is most definately going on.

With DF its probably bugged los - pissed of it myself when sometimes i cannot cast heals on the person right in front of me and had to resort to insta/group heals and hectics running afterwards to get him "in-view".

When I get to think about it...

The person was lagging ahead of me - but obviously had no problem seeing MY excact location as she walked up right behind me and killed me.

And btw, no I am not whining about being killed in DF. Every mid /alb stealther in this game has killed me in DF I dont mind. I was just looking for a good fight in there and feel rather cheated.

you dont need to see/know the exact location to /stick n style a caster.

hint: the right tactics is NOT casting a blot, but /face qc root, back off in safe rang and nuke.


by the way, lots of the styled hits i bring in in duellike situations are revenging blade. ~~~~
