Let's /face it (pun intended), bm's will do anything to get their overpowered side chain in. Looking forward to trying it myself sometime soon, artis are almost leveled.

Depends what you mean by fair, in the duel compititions in albion all abilities your characters had (like charges etc) were allowed while anything from the outside (buffs) weren't.

Strafing in a duel is just low. If you wanted to win you would have used what abilities you have up.

Well 'duels' are mostly based on the fact that it might evolve in an interesting fight. A RR6-merc with a 9 sec stun from parry, a 'you now fumble fuckloads and i hit just fine'-button an a fucking uber frontal-positional.

Is the fight really entertaining when enemy cant hit back during Dirty Tricks and most likely will be stunned for 9 secs due to Hypnotic Darkness? Or when merc can just use a 0.86 GR as anytime but BM only 0.59 ? Or 10% relics difference? Or chain vs. reinforced/studded?

If you consider Dirty Tricks fine in a duel, fine with me. But its only available to the merc in this duel, where strafing is to everyone. Why whine about Ice-storm when u use Dirty Tricks in the first place is totally beyond me.

like i said pup, i only used dt once he started strafing and running through, and the hypno stun is only 7 seconds long ;)

Strafing to land a side style in a duel in very low, end of story, BM's have there own OMGINSTAWIN too, Triple Wield is pretty handy, blade barrier is like engage etc, also a free oppitunity to land the Parry chain Stun(9 sec stun right?) a BM would eat a zerker etc.

Dirty Tricks > Tripple wield and Blade Barrier > Dirty Tricks. Merc has option to negate TW, and RR5+ BM has option to negate Dirty Tricks.

Blademasters dont have a 9 sec stun after parry unless they spec blunt - which is anyhow a guaranteed loss against a Mercenary worth its salt.

Strafing is probably lame as mercs then might miss Dual Shadows, on the other hand Dirty Tricks is probably alot more lame then Side-stun.

I dont see much problems with strafing - as its available to every realm and every class.

If you dont strafe as BM in BM vs. Merc the Merc has everything better: Better armour, better relics, better 'anytime' and a better chance to land stun (Hypnotic Darkness - 7 sec stun, I thought it was 9 but oh well). Crush merc even has anytime stun - thats all balanced but a BM making his stun 'anytime' is focking lame ?

Oh well enough QQ I guess we wont agree on the case - strafing in melee-fights is atleast some skill involved (as u need to time it right to avoid the 'You're strafing in combat and miss') in playing your class to the maximum where Battler/use2, Dirty Tricks and smack the Dualshadows around is just mindless buttonsmashing in my eyes :p

Strafe like whore means "skills" as long as in this occation "we" defend a hib mate. Maybe we can rename bugabuse skill some time or even cheats!!. Ofc as long as we defend a hib !! oh wait ... we have done that already.

I also fail to see how strafe, ie. moving around which ALL classes ALL realms can do, can be considered lame/cheat etc???

erh you just want both to /face and standing still pushing buttons in a certain order? And that would be skills ? How?

Both can strafe, back away, turn, run thru, sit, stand, jump, cry, emote or what the fuck ever, how the hell you claim it to be cheating or even lame?

ffs :eek7:

Casters/healers can perfectly well strafe when they have the assist train on them, works wonders. :D

casters can run through but also tbh strafeing is done by many caster healer etc; and for a caster to qq about strafeing quite funny imo.... since if u got face on him or ench like thread starter here pbae/stun not gonna be that affected to same degree as a melee class when u cant style etc? :>

Heh, tell me about it. It insane when i strafe on my tic, which i resorted to doing so a fair bit at the moment due to all enemy starting it up again. 3+tanks on you taking down 2% health every 5seconds or so. Keeps me alive as tehy give up and bugger of elsewhere so i can get back to my job.. running around like a looney :D

couldn't agree more really, not strafing against tanks, especially charge that can't be negated in anyother way is just like saying 'hi, i'm ready for you to rape me a new asshole, lets get it over with fast.'
